just got an 09 gt 500

hi guys im new to this site. just had a few questions. i just got my 09 gt 500 last week.torch red with white stripes. i already had it in the shop for minor things. tob making noise which i was told was normal due to a bullitin and a few rattles. anyways i had a question, is it possible to upgrade from the shaker 1000 to the factory navi. if so is it a full kit with antennas and all. whats the part numbers if anyones knows thanks in advance..

I hear ya.

I would definitely stay factory installed look if I had a GT500. But for a regular GT, I was already doing aftermarket speakers, amps, etc, but the GT500 deserves a very clean original look.

I do not know why, but Ford was not able to offer the Shaker 1000 and the Navigation together. That said, I wonder if there is a compatability issue preventing the two from coexisting, even if installed after-the-fact???

Yes, you can upgrade from the S1000 to the factory Navigation radio. No, it is not plug n play as the Nav radio has no outputs to drive the factory sub amps. To complete this upgrade, the factory amps can be wired to take thier signal from the front low level sub input signal and a new cable run to the trunk. They can also be wired through a ballast resistor block to the rear speakers if you wish.

Question You skipped over all the good stuff

Hello,
Welcome,
I hope you are happy with your GT500, the tone of your first post isn't too encouraging...

Are you enjoying your new 500 Horsepower Mustang? Please tell us about it...

The biggest thing I do NOT like about the Ford factory navigation system is that when the car is running you CAN NOT shut that **** bright screen off.

I MAY have considered spending $1900 on the Ford factory navigation system if they would have included an off/on switch for the screen...

thanks guys, jcthorn, is there any write ups on that or instructions. for the others, i am enjoying the car, i love it. as for the power, my 03 had more power but this one is much different in every way. it is a different type of fast. my 03 cobra dynoed 465 and 485 had a best run of 12.02 with stock irs on et streets. now if i do everything my 03 cobra had, the gt 500 will be a beast. thanks still looking for the camera
