How much over MSRP are you willing to pay?

If production stands at 7,000 - 7,500 Shelby's, this works out to 1 or maybe 2 Shelby's per dealership. From what I have gathered from this forum and others, it looks like MSRP is out of the question. Therefore, where do you stand? Are you / will you pay over MSRP?

I can't fix it in this area, but my vote would be ZERO.
7K-7.5 over 2 years is a heck of a lot of cars. In fact, about equals the Mach 1 run ... I'm not goingover MSRP if all I need to do is wait a few months.
Don't forget, not all dealers are getting them. In fact the Ford dealer closet to me only had 1 Mach I in, but the dealer I bought mine from had many (probably 10-12 total, if not more).

SVT says 9-14K per year, at least 2 years. They will be plentiful in 6-12 months. Don't be a sucker and pay over unless you just can't wait it out. AMV is for suckers.

Any confirmation on the 9-14K per year? This is the first I have heard of those numbers. Do they have this on their website or is it word of mouth? Big difference between 7,000 per year and up to 14,000 per year. I thought they were not able to get enough super chargers for that kind of quantity. I hate mind games! Even 7-9K per year is huge. 9K a year would equal as many Mach's were made over 2 years. And no, no confirmation -- even on the 7K a year. The 7k a year is as verified as the 9-14K (i.e. "sources").
If Ford can sell them, they'll make them. You'd have to love wasting money and be a bit stupid to pay over MSRP.

Calvin, I know for sure, that any dealer who was a full on SVT will get 2 cars, and SVT Focus dealers will get 1 car, not including the car that you get for signing up for the program, and excluding share of nation, or whatever they are calling it. For us, we weren't SVT, but we will get 1 car, once we sigh up for the Shelby program. There was a letter months ago, on this forum, from Daryl Hazel, Ford's car head honcho, about an idea of allocation. I printed it out, topic #29,726, in the old 2005+ Mustang lead section. Ford should be having a broadcast on our satellite system, to tell us more about how this car will be divied up. That should be within the next mohth or so. Time will tell. Careful. The Mach is a fine car and it has a large dedicated following on this site.
I responded to your PM. Call SVT, they will tell you somewhere between 7000 and 14,000. My last call (2 weeks ago) said 9-14k. They will decide that when they see how it sells. They will make as many as they can sell over the next 2-3 years. Paying AMV is a mistake. Bookmark this post and come back in 1 year to compare the prices to what people think they will be.

Strangely, your logic plays against you. Price wise, you're right, its not .. But, if people paid 5-10K over sticker for a Mach 1, and then a year or so later they sold at MSRP or below (mostly below) how in the world do you think they'll find a market for 14000-20000 40K-45K cars that have been marked up an additional x amount?
It doesn't make sense.

People were paying over MSRP like crazy. Ford responded by increasing the production numbers within 5 months of when they started selling. Two months later, we got word they were going to make them in 2004. Within 9 months, the $3000+ rebates started appearing.
I suspect Ford market planners will be forecasting the demand more carefully for this car. I also believe they will balance the total number predicted against production capacity and the expected sales increases over the course of 2007. If recent history is an indicator, people will be able to get one without the need to pay over MSRP.
My final answer - not over MSRP and below if possible.
