Pat writes books on Mustangs, model cars, and knives. He lives here in Birmingham and we eat lunch at the Silvertron Cafe about once a month. Great guy.

Brad you really gotta start informing me of when you are doing these shoots.
I really want to like the GT 500 but there are a few visual things that just don't work, such as the spoiler and the black bar on the bottom as seen on the v-6.I know they were trying to thin the profile down but I don't know. I think the lines are beautiful, but from a distance, to any non-mustangsource personel, this car will probably look like a v-6. Maybe from the front more than any other angle, because of the absence of fog lights. Just my opinion though. Great pics. Orangs is killer on any s197. Oh, and the Shelby writing in the corner, thats maybe a tad disapointing, especially since ford did it perfectly on the Hertz GT-H's.

I heard that the "Shelby" was moved over to the side b/c on the assembly line the guy that is doing the strips is also doing the emblem or that there is another guy right next to him. Either way there wasn't enough time to put each individual letter on to spell out "Shelby" like on the concept car or the GT-H. Now as far as the 'verts go, I don't know why it could not have been spelled out. Probably b/c there would be a need for two different emblems and Ford thought that would be redundent. All of this is assuming that that is the real reason.

The letters are off to the side because they wouldn't stick very long on the vinyl stripes. The GT-H's stripes are painted, so it's not an issue.
