Exactly. Anyone who paid a markup should have anticipated that loss as soon as they left the dealer lot. I'm not saying everyone did, just that they should have. There are plenty of people out there who bought these cars with the hopes of it increasing in value, they very likely will find themselves disappointed.
From the standpoint of holding value as defined by MSRP the GT500 is doing quite well compared to most domestic vehicles.

03-04 Cobras in my area are anywhere from $18k-$24k with miles below 50k. The GT500's are MSRP at the dealers and about the same privately. The private owners are not lowering the cost because they paid the large amounts to be the first owners of these cars. Im waiting to see if some deals start to happen soon. May have to wait for the 2010 lineup though. Im also looking more into private sellers.
