I went to the Cleveland auto show and seen the white GT500. It even looks better in person. The spokes model said we could order in 2 weeks. She said it is confirmed to be only made 2 years, and they will make between 8,000 to 10,000 each year. That's about what we have been hearing. I'm #2 on the wait list at my Dealer so I called and ask the exact date I can go down and order. He said (here comes the new rumor) the rep told him there would only be 1600 - 1800 made a year for 3 years. It would be 475 hp the first year. 500hp the second year. 525hp the 3rd year. As great as this would be HP wise, I think its funny how the Dealers know less than everyone else.

Due to the misinformation of the Ford rep, my dealer won't order any more than one Shelby. (The owner gets that one) He said they want to wait until the rep tells him how many are allocated. This is the same rep that told them there would only be 1600 - 1800. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif[/img] I'm supposed to be #2 and I said "lets just put it in and see what happens." Hang in there. Monday is when the order banks open. You should know more then. Take print off of any pertinent info from the site to prove your case. Tell them to call 1-800-Ford-SVT and ask them how many are being made.

Well CrazyHorse, it was a good idea. I called my dealer today to give him all the info and to let him know he should get pricing and allocation numbers soon. He said he's only getting one. Basically he said my info is just rumors and he's sticking by what the rep said. I told him I'm still interested even if I have to wait until 08. It's really not looking good for me getting a Shelby.

Sharp, IF your dealer was not an SVT dealer and has signed up for the GT-500, he will only get (One) car per year UNLESS his volume (Mustang sales) is enough to get a part of the "Share of nation" that should be finalized by first of June.

 

Yeah he's a small dealer (no SVT), but he is a President's Award dealer too. So that should be at least 2. I was trying to get him to put in my order and try and get one of the allocation units. I understand that placing the order is no guarantee but it doesn't hurt to try. The big dealers in my area want 10K over sticker, I won't buy anything from them after hearing that.
