Not sure if this is a repost, I did a search but found nothing...

Did you guys see this Shelby GT500 commercial? I about jumped out of my seat wanting to yell "HELL YEAH FORD, its ABOUT TIME your marketing department got some *****". Great commercial!

You don't happen to have a link to that thread do you by any chance?

EDIT:: I found the link, in the Carrera GT section. Those guys are total morons. One guy posts, "475 hp @ 4,000 lbs, or 605 hp @ 3,000 lbs, what would I chose"

Let me compare:
$45K (MSRP now). Heck even $55K with the premium OR $425,000 to $448,000? Hmmm, let me think about this one for a second. I'll take the Shelby, even with its iron block. If I wanted a supercar, I'd rather have a Ford GT than the Carrera GT. That clutch in the Carrera GT is insane. No play, either in or out. A stalling nighmare to get used to. Plus Motor Trend did a comparo a while ago, Enzo, Ford GT, and Carrera GT. The Ford did everything the Porsche did, and it was a ton cheaper. Plus the GT was the only car to be driven there, as the owners of both the Enzo, and Carrera GT had their cars trailered to the racetrack.

and these Porsche guys need to get their facts straight. Its 500 hp Stuttgart boy.

I've never seen a magazine comparison with the Ford GT, Ferrari Enzo, and Porsche Carrera GT. As good a car as the Ford is, it would have no chance. (Edit to add, I found the article, not much of a comparison however you might check the MT figure 8 times.)

The Carrera GT does have 605 hp.

I saw the commercial and also noticed that that the Porsche "moved over" for the Shelby. I thought it was funny.

houston (I have a Shelby GT deposit down) nw
