Wow. That's a lot of specific info that I've never seen listed for a car before. Where did you get all that?

Well, most of the numbers came from the specs I found on the web (wish I could remember where). The c/d# came from a stock '05, the HP I bumped up 'cause I'm reading that 450 is conservative, the hp@rpm and tq@rpm numbers came from data on the Ford GT, and I added a few pounds for the larger engine. All of these numbers are educated guesses, so anyone let me know if you have a better idea. I'll run the test again with any suggestions.

The program I use is the old CarTest DOS version, so take it for what it is...

I AM NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THOSE NUMBERS. I WOULD EXPECT A LITTLE FASTER TIME TO 60 and the 1/4. But I do relize one you get some practice and the car broken in they should improve.

Sounds quite plausible to me. Perhaps a touch conservative, but probably realistic.

That is a good exercise.

But, 3500 lb curb weight? How is an iron block, 5.4 with an s/c the same weight as the aluminum 4.6 (not to mention the huge brakes, etc.)? I think that is way low. The alum. block is supposed to shave 75# by itself (over the 4.6), not to mention the heads and blower on top of the 5.4. I would expect the car to weight in at least 3750.

the est. weight is 3600, from ford. 4.5 0-60 is what my guess was, but I was hoping for a low 12 quarter. we'll have to see what it really does when they start hitting the track i guess.

I like that top speed though!!!

If you re-ran the program using data from the '05GT, how close are the program's results compared to the test results from the magazines? This might be a way to determine the accuracy or result tolerance of the program. Once you test with a known quantity (05 GT) then you can then figure out what the GT500 might be able to achieve.

The numbers I get for the stock GT are:

0-60 in 5.6
1/4 mile in 14.1 @ 102.6 mph
147 mph top speed

Hmm. Whereas real drivers have run it stock 4.9 0-60 and 13.2 1/4. Hopefully we'll see a similar difference in the projected and actual results for the GT500.

It's just a default setting of the program. If I tell it there's a turbo, then this is the default start rpm. It has nothing to do with the numbers you see.

I'd assume that doesn't take into account the drag limiting. Hey, I said it's an old DOS program, so...

Remove the spare tire, jack and rear seat, you could make up for a couple hundred pounds
