in your cars case i will agree..your car is a rare one...big block car...i dont know all the options you have but there are certain cars that fall where your car does.........but most of the cars on there, the prices were just ridiculous...........

I was waiting all day for lot #1259.1 to come around. That rocker dude at 1259 was really playing the crowd with his old Shelby with the 427 ci in it. I think it went for 250K. Well $600,000 plus 8% "buyers fee" plus say 7% sales tax comes out to $690,000. These buyers are not insane or they could never put that kind of money together. There were some good buys where the car was undervalued for what its worth but more were vastly overvalued and the sellers (and the auctioneers) were making out like bandits. Moral of the story if you want to make money sell your car at BJ in Az. Hey Carroll looked good.He sure talked up Ford.

My SVT Dealer called me and said he thinks Shelbys will go out to ALL Ford dealers and not just SVT dealers the bad news is that each dealer will only get about 2 and they will go to the highest bidders. I got sick of this playing around and went out and bought a 50th Anniversary ZO6 Red Vette with very low miles for $35,000. Its got all I want and will turn a 12.3 sec. 1/4 mi. Plus great gas milage. I love Fords but when a deal comes along you grab it.

Being for charity doubled the price, IMO. Unfortunately, dealers will use the price to rationalize huge mark-ups.
All the other extras like being the first to the public and being able to watch it be built certainly didn't hurt either. Anyone know who bought it?
I'd certainly pay extra to see my car being built. Corvette offers it. I wish Ford would.

I believe he said in the realm of refinement not in power. I understand what he is saying, and unless the Shelby is vastly improved over the standard Mustang then I can believe it. The new Mustang is a vast improvement over the previous year but still can do a little more refinement. However, that would jack the price up more I am sure so I am happy with where it is now.

It will be interesting to see in 2-3 years how hard/expensive it will be to pickup a Shelby. For the next year or so it will be completely insane I suppose. I think up to this year, the key at B-J was to bring a stock, or orignally restored car if you wanted the big bucks. Now clones, replica's, tribute, etc, cars are going for unbelievable (IMO) prices. I don't get it but then again it ain't my $
