first post... new on this board. So forgive me if this question has been asked before:

I know the car hasn't come out yet, but has anyone already seen aftermarket parts for the Shelby? Lowering springs, exhausts, headers, etc... Or would the parts for the regular 05 GT be applicable for the Shelby? Sorry for the ignorant questions... i don't even have a Stang yet. I'm about to sell my pick-up (and some land, lol) for the upcoming GT500

Don't feel about about posting and/or asking questions. We were all new once. Some people may forget that and give you a hard time. Just ignore them and enjoy our site. It is a nice Mustang Community.

We don't know for sure about A/M suspension parts. In theory, most of the GT parts should work. I'm sure as soon as the car is out, the parts will closely follow. Exhaust, intake, etc. will likely be a diff story than the suspension. It is my understanding that the GT500 is going to have a factory X-pipe anyway. Mufflers may be the only chaNge needed unless you want to put headers on it.

Pulley and chip thats going to be the most common performance addition im sure. Just like the terminator cobras.

 

I don't think the GT500 is going to be as easy to tune with a pulley and chip like the Terminators . . . .

 

people who know more than I do are saying the pulley can't be changed without changing the snout on the blower.


I still bet Ford tones it down with restrictive air flow and tune. Both of those should be easy to unlock significant power.

I have driven modified Terminators (chip, pulley, exhaust). They were much more powerful than the stock version. I hope those people are wrong. I'd be changing that pulley if I can.

 

Its just an apton or twin screw away lol.... But your right about the exhaust being an x-pipe. I assume the exaust manufacturers will make long tubes that will work if the stock comes in a two piece. I just hope it won't be a pita like it is on my mach unless you drop the k member. There is going to be plenty of potential but expect to pay more because alot of the small upgrades have been taken care of by ford. Either way its going to be a blast to mad and should fly.

The Terminators were relatively easy to squawk a nice boost out of for little cash....

I'm sure the GT500 will have SOME BPU upgradeability...but it may be a bit more outta the wallet to have that done.

Ah the snout change. I misinterpreted your statement as something to the effect of "it wont respond as well to a pulley change and tune."

Lol, I didnt realize you literally meant ease of changing the pulley.
