Darth Stang, do you mean remove the sway bar? If you did that, I imagine it would have an adverse reaction on handling, regardless of being lowered or not

It's a good weight-loss mod for drag racing, though.

I just think we're losing sight of what's really important. We've got a beautiful car that truly, "walks the walk."
I personally haven't even driven anything close to 500 hp and 480 ft/lb of torque, so I know it has to be incredible. It looks like a classic mustang, it sounds like a muscle car, and it's relatively practical being a 4 seater with some trunkspace. I don't think it will necessarily beat a Z06, but it can definitely hook with one.
Besides, I know you could add horsepower and lose weight if you really wanted to. I also think 90% of us could never really use 500 HP, but darn, it sure is fun to brag about it. Consider me sold so long as the dealers keep the price reasonable.

Z06 killa...?
Not in this lifetime, sorry.

A couple bolt ons and it will be.

Well, Ford can pat themselves on the back for making a 500hp Mustang dream car, because thats what its become for the majority of us. Dealers are marking these things up into the $60k's and the waiting list is going to be LONG!

I've always found this argument baseless. Couldn't then the Z06 add a bit here and there to accomplish the same thing???

I agree with the 500 HP. I bet that 480 lbs of Torque would be used quite often though.

i must be in the 10%.... i floor my car at least once pretty much everyday...i am a firm beleiver in keeping away carbon buildups in my engines

480 TQ would be quite useful. Considering that the majority of it occurs before the 4500 rpm.
In regards to modifying any car, the magnitude of the effect of the bolt ons depends on so many factors. Including the design, size, & strengthening of the motor and drivetrain, as well as the other performance aspects of the car.
Certain cars are known to not be modified often by their owners. Consider the classification of the car and the demographical ownership. Therefore, certain cars cannot be equally compared to one another in this regard. Modifying a 27K Mustang GT typically carries a different approach than modifying a 70K Vette.
Add one more to the 10% --- i put my foot in it at least once each time i drive.

I think it's great news.... 500 hp... great news.
The only thing that's sad is I don't know that I'll ever be able to get one.
The price on these things is going to be ridiculous.
Of course maybe in five or so years the price will go down... hehe... who knows.
