1st drive with CAI & tune
Just took the car out for the 1st drive since installing the JLT CAI & Brenspeed tune. All I can cay is WOW! I had always heard that a CAI & tune made a huge difference on these cars, but now I've experienced it firsthand. It's fairly cool out today, & my stock Goodyears didn't really have time to warm up. Forget about nailing it in 1st, it fishtailed all the way thru 2nd when I got on it. It's like a totally different car.

I'm not even going to mess with pulleys until I figure out a way to get some traction. I was at a car show yesterday with it, & a friend asked if I was going to do a pulley, & I said, "Why, so I can spin all the way thru 3rd?!"

I was hoping to find a fairly sticky regular tire, preferably American made. But I may have to go to drag radials. I've read through the forums over on TeamShelby, & I know these Goodyears are a lot better when they're warm. The car is about to be put away for the winter, so I've got a few months to research things. I'm a lot more into showing the car than I'd ever be into racing it, but I'd still like it to hook up better.

I did the 2.6" pulley upgrade a couple of weeks ago, & it was just like the CAI mod all over again. Planning on sending my rear wheels to Weldcraft this winter & getting them widened to 11", then getting some 325/30-19 Michelins.

It was a worthwhile upgrade to my car with no problems as I daily drive my car under a variety of conditions and I didn't take any real hit to fuel economy as well. 14/25 mpg if I drive with some sense.
