I don't usually get involved in this kind of thing, but this might be of interest to somebody here.

A good friend, who is a saleman at Phil Long Ford in Co
just called to offer me a shot at getting a GT500 vert,
as their buyer just backed out today.
But the catch is, as with all of their GT500s (they have deposits on two coupes),
it's priced at MSRP plus $10k.

I don't want a vert, so this wasn't the one for me.
If anyone is interested, contact me and I can provide you with his cell number.
(He told me you can pick the color and options.)

 

Did your friend mention the deposit they require is $20K? That's what Phil Long told me.

 

The way I understand it if you can still pick color and options you could get a coupe.The dealers can order any style they want.They have no % of coupe to covert so if they haven't ordered yet they could get whatever they want.I say They are pulling a fast one on someone.

 

Nope, he told me they are only assigned 2 coupes (both held with deposits) and one vert (now available) for this year.

rpretzel--that could be true.
I'm not buying one, so it doesn't really matter to me what it cost
or what anybody wants to pay.
This dealership has one available and somebody will buy it.
