This is the wrong crowd for scare tactics, Matt.

BTW, 16,000+ units over 2 years isn't exactly "limited production."

No scare tactics... this is exactly what Ford posted on the dealer website. I'm just giving you what I see myself.

Ford's dealer website says "They WILL bring a premium"? Somehow, I doubt that.

No kidding. Anyone who pays more than MSRP for one of these clearly has a lot more disposable income than the vast majority of Mustang buyers, and no qualms about throwing it away.

The smart shopper will wait till the feeding frenzy is over and easily pick one up for MSRP or less.

No offense Matt. I understand you are a friend of Brad's and have treated him well. But, most of the people on this board are disgusted with dealerships and ADMs. Coming on here and posting about how big your list is, etc., only aggravates the situation more. If, as 1Bullitt suggested in another thread, you were here to sell us a car at MSRP, we would all welcome you with open arms.

Initially, these cars WILL bring a premium. In a few months, they WILL normalize. If you still have cars and want to sell them sans markup, drop us a line.

"Note these are base prices and because they are limited production unites [sic], they WILL bring a premium."

It seems the only thing that is NOT in "limited production unites [sic]" is dealer greed and BS...

While I guess calling them "base prices" could be correct, I thought they were MSRP, i.e. the "suggested retail price," as in the price that Ford says these cars should be sold for. But I guess "base price" and "suggest price" are really the same thing, right...right...cue sarcasim music...

Interesting that out of one side of Ford's mouth it is telling the public that it doesn't want the dealers to charge AMVs.

But out of the other side of Ford's mouth its telling the dealers to go ahead and charge AMVs.

It's the Ford reps that are telling the dealers they should get big ADMs. I have had several dealers tell me the rep told them they should be able to get X amount over sticker.

You would think with all the so called demand for the car over MSRP that Matt wouldn't even have to post. Makes me wonder if the dealers are starting to see those lists of buyers 50 deep droping. Trust me most people on the list in each area are the same people.

For them have the upper hand for a few months out of three years is not that bad. After that they will be dealing with a different type of buyers, the ones who will remember what it felt like to be stepped on, laugh at, and ridiculed. It will be very, very interesting.

Payback can be a beach.

I can't wait for the day when we (the average buyer) will be able to walk into a dealer set our own price and I can garuntee that alot of us will want them cheaper than MSRP if for no other reason than to teach the short sighted dealers a lesson. Once those cars are on the lots not selling..just like the Ford GT's are.. then the dealers wont have any choice but to knuckle under and take the sale at a possible hit to the wallet. Just like they are trying to do with us now.
Seems to me that in the end the people that wait wil win this war.

It's pretty funny, I bet than anyone here who is serious about buying a GT500 would happily pay MSRP for one and wouldn't even argue over the price.

Such short sightedness..but why are we suprised at this? Dealers have been doing this for years.. Charging us a premium for a nice car then denying warrenty claims and such. It's like a big con job.

Maybe it should be called "The Way Backwards."

Just a thought.

Did you notice Toyota's latest slogan is "Moving Forward"?

There is nothing better than being original.
