I think something really cool looking resides under that camo! So I think we can say for sure we get hips, LED tails. What are some other knowns about the bodywork?

I think this is the first time we've seen fogs in the grille again - nice. Also seems the side scallops are slightly more pronounced and angled at the rear in front of the rear wheel opening.

Trying to trick us with fogs or will they really be there.

Wondering if a decision was made to add those to the GT as its now kinda known as of 2005 that the GT has lights in the grill

Like the more angular side scalop

Rims look pretty cool too.
18s?

The antenna ... if thats the production one..is way better than the WHIP

Tailights can barely see the edge around.
Wonder how that is going to turn out. Someone mentioned that in another spyshot thread a while back... how the inside portion beside the light is flush with the light now..doesn't sink into the area where the fake gas cap is. (or if it does, it is not as wide as the current dip)
(I probably explained that horribly...)

Nice hip...
Its a short but smooth transition.

How many more pics of camo covered cars do we really need to see Ok, maybe a few more. I'm still not feeling any love with those taillights.

I think the tails will look fine. I trust the Ford designers.

Boomer: With Topnotch's excellent photos, your description is quite understandable!

I'm optimistic about how the rear bodywork that's flush with the taillights will look--I liked the recessed taillight section of the S197s, but if going flush with the taillights means they've trashed that gross faux gas cap then it will surely be worth it!

I'm not so certain about the rear fender kick-up (what was known as the Mustang's trademark "rear fender kick-up" back in the day is now described as "hips")--it looks like a little more rear fender kick-up than was on the '64/'65/'66s, but less rear fender kick-up than was on the '69s/'70s. Maybe they're going for the '67/'68 look...I hope it works.

I've felt that the drab slab taillights of the S197 are a styling weakness ever since the concept two-seater S197s hit the autoshow rotundas, and what I see in these pics still doesn't appeal to me--but I hate chrome, so...

The more pronounced side scallop in these photos will be OK with me provided it's part of a full "C scoop" instead of the S197's "Oblique L".

They've gotta trash the stalky JC Whitney catalog radio antenna! Put the damned thing into the windshield or other glass and be done with it already! Sheesh!

And bring on the new 5.0!

I'm really not feeling those headlights, I think the rest of the car may be fine, but you know how quickly an ugly set of headlights can put you off on a car. I just don't think it will look right with the integrated turn signal and that shape. I may be wrong, but I'm worried.

Well at least their putting some of the body color onto the side mirrors, so that's one less mod to do.

I agree the C scoop is what were looking at and I really do hope the hips come off looking as good as they could. As for the side mirros I dig them and seeing how the greenhouse stays the same I believe they will be a future mod on my stang! The front end is much more pronounced in these and to me it looks like the grill does not have near as much angle as the current gt500 but instead a compromise between the current GT and gt500 front end. All in all I am MAJORLY curious!

I am having a real hard time with those candy cane looking tail lights. Don't dislike them
in general, but they just don't seem to look right on a Mustang.

Personally I am not a fan of the GT500 grill thus the new grill styling is a bit of a turn off for me. Keeping the fogs would be great though.

I'm sure that the car will be fine overall. Probably the upgraded interior materials (I am assuming) would be the most welcome change of the new model.

I think the "hip" will look like the current charger in proportion to the overall car. Just enough to break up the lines of the car, nothing like the 69. Also of interest on these pics is the detail of the flare above the front wheel. Looks more pronounced with that angle in front it will look great.

I don't see how these pics prove LED tail lights.

I will have to see the finished product, because as of right now, I haven't seen anything that I like.
I don't like the blinkers. I don't like the tail lights. I don't like the dash board.

Has anyone else noticed that all of these mules are running around with trailer hitches on?
Is it possible that it is hiding some new suspension components with a solid axle, or even ....*gasp* IRS ?

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but for you expert car guys do these angled pieces toward the tires suggest an IRS? I know ford thinks its expensive, but isn't this one of the auto world's major knocks against the Mustang, and wouldn't this be a logical improvement?

Looks solid to me

Most mules have the trailer hitches and fuel tank drains on them....
For testing purposes.
As well as pod gauges or laptops of some type.

Nothing new there.
