Would a dealer install an aftermarket part at time of delivery

for example: a different front fascia? I would ask them to paint part and install? any chance of that happening?

Maybe, but a good body shop would do it for less $$$. And if it is aftermarket part then there is no warranty to retain from Ford, only from the manufacturer of the part.

A dealer will do anything for money. Their body shop doesn't care about the details. They will paint your part and install it anytime you want it done.

Yes. And most will fold it in the financing, if you qualify for the extra (to a point, of course).

But, it will be very expensive compared to the local guy down the street (maybe even as much as double - especially since they most likely have the guy down the street do it for them). Part of the price you pay to get it financed all at once.

i wouldnt put the installation and paint in my monthly bill.. would pay separate...I just figured it would be easier and maybe safer for the dealer to do it compared to a ind.body shop..maybe im wrong..if the price is way out then forget the dealer

Most dealerships don't even have body shops on the premises. If you aren't going to finance, don't even think of buying it through the dealership.

Safer?

Why?

I would trust a good body shop over the dealer.

Off topic... why is the GT500 rear fascia $150 at Ford but $180ish online? Because I was going to order it from dealer and have them install it before I pick up my car. Then I read this thread, and thought about buying it online.

Just playing on peoples ignorance, people who don't do any research.

Some people think that just because it's on ebay that it must be a deal.

First place I looked online has them for $124.95, surely it can be had for even less than that.
