inside information?

Wait a second, where do you get your inside information? What do you know that no one else does?

You may well want it to be true, but you have no way of knowing if it indeed will be...

Actually I do, and it's not really inside info. At the Woodward Dream Cruise, a Ford rep said the 2010GT would have the same suspension setup as the '08-'09 Bullit.

And it goes without saying that even if the powertrains are carried over, there will be a power bump for 2010. The Bullit only has 15hp more than a standard GT now, so I see them easily eclipsing that number

At best it might equal the current 2008-2009 Bullitt

So NOTHING you have revealed here supports your statement.

At best using the same suspension, and the carry over 4.6 engine (without a blower), and likely a taller rear end gear, it might equal the current 2008-2009 Bullitt... But I seriously doubt it... That 15 horsepower more than a standard GT now, isn't going to easily be eclipsed without some drastic changes...

As I said, You may well want the 2010 GT to out perform the 2008 Bullitt, but nothing you have shared here indicates it will...

Don't worry, I think I'm pretty safe in my assumption

Especially if it weighs less....

Liking the options.
Especially next gen sync, 245s (255 would be nicer...but its better than 235s)
Dual climate control
Heated seats (but no cooled..boo hiss)

Well if it's got the same suspension and engine upgrades as the Bullitt- it's going to have the same price tag as the Bullitt- they ain't gonna give that stuff away.
So now the GT is going to start at around 32k.

Not necessarily.
R/D is done on the Bullitt already, and the cost of the parts will go down with such large volume.
Plus your paying for exclusivity on the Bullitt

It should still be under 30 base for sure. (over depending on how much tech and extra's you want)

I've got a question. Why does the steering wheel appear red in the original pic? Is it just a cover against wear on the wheel by the test drivers?

I suspect that the '10's handling will be much like the Bullit's, which seems to best developed iteration of the S197 chassis to date, maybe even a touch better with inevitable refresh suspension updates. The bad news is that the basically carry-over chassis will have the same weaknesses of the lively axle in terms of ride quality, NVH, and real world handling capability.

Hopefully the brakes will be upsized a bit and otherwise upgraded. That too was a bit of an Achilles's heel for the GT.

'10 performance, presuming a carry over drivetrain, will likely be closer to the current GT than the Bullitt, not that there's that much difference to begin with. Even if Ford does tweak up to Bullitt level HP, a piddling 15hp over the base GT now, I suspect such a small bump will be eaten up by increased weight, which most every current manufacturer seems incapable of avoiding. I doubt we'll see much more than 300-325hp out of the '10, what with Ford concencentrating its drivetrain development energies on the '11 5.0, Ecoboost and other high priority engines rather than a one-year-only carry over.

But bottom line, for '10 we'll get the flash, for '11, we'll get the dash.

I can't see them putting the same rear axle assembly as the Bullitt (Same as GT500KR with 3.73:1 ratio) in every production 2010 GT.

Maybe they are sticking with the powertrains completely not just engines.
Including current tranny's.
