Window Fit Issues

Anyone had any trouble with the window fit or alignment? I stopped by my local dealer and looked at the 1 new Mustang they had. It was in their lobby. The passenger side window was up, but the back upper corner of the window glass didn't seal against the trim (probably a good 3/8" gap). It almost looked like it was bowed out at the back upper corner, but the glass wasn't cracked or broken. Anyone have any thoughts on what may have happened to it? I don't have a picture, but I could go back and take one later if anyone wants to see what I'm talking about.

It's just out of alignment. No big deal.

It isn't out of alignment that's exactly what happens when there's no power.
You have to lower the window a bit before you disconnect the battery (or do it with the door open).

on '05+ the window moves down 1/2" when the door is opened, then back up when closed to seal properly.

Cinque said it right, the dealer should have rolled the window down a bit before disconnecting the battery. When disconnected, the window does not automatically seal, and instead is left in the "sealed" position. It is perfectly normal, and when the door is closed, the part you see sticking out in the photo it tucked up to create a perfect seal

I think the pre-05s had doors with no metal over the glass, but I don't think the window had to be lowered any. I had a 99, but it's been so long now I don't know for sure anymore. I don't recall their being any issues with it. I guess with the newer models, it was done for NVH concerns or something similar. I guess it's okay, though I could see some people using it as a source of Mustang mockery.

pre 05 did not have 'short drop' windows.
Post 05 does

I learned the hard way not to disconnect the battery without having the doors open to keep it in the 1/2 inch closed position.

I couldn't recall, so I searched for some pictures of some SN95s. Found this one...looks like no frame above the door glass to me, which is how I remember it (though my memory is questionable, thus the search for pics).

I think maybe the roofline overhung the window enough that trim on the outside of the window wasn't required.
