Will incentives/rebates increase soon?
Will incentives/rebates increase soon?
So I'm unsure what to do at this point. I've been saving up for a little over two years and now have enough to pay in full for the mustang I want, a new 2014 GT. Although I have enough to pay in full I would still like to get the best deal possible. I've waited this long and if it's worth it I don't mind holding off for a while if it means I can get a better deal. Does anyone think Ford will increase the rebates/incentives within the next 3 months or so? I would think they might get bumped up a bit to get remaining 2014s sold but I'm no expert. Any opinions/advice/info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
yeah, i doubt incentives will get any better although, you can likely work out a better deal on the actual cost of the car itself. if you can find a car that you like on the lot and a sales guy hungry enough for your business, you can likely strike a good deal.
It goes by Zip Code.
Im my area there is a $3000 + $1000 or $2000 and 0% there is a $750 coupon you can use if you can get one.
My dealer let me have all of them even without the coupon.
I have never seen these kind of incentives on this kind of car before.
Ford has doubling and tripping Mustang sales in the past few months since they announced the 2015 HUM.
Dealers by me are up to 10K off in stock Cars.
Good Luck

I just took delivery and got a total of $4000 in rebates (had to be a GT premium) plus the $750 coupon.
I don't think they'll get better but they are changing July 7. Maybe if you commit July 6 and take delivery July 7, you can choose between the old and new rebates.

Don't wait too long. Dealer 2014 inventory is dwindling, for convertibles at least. I got mine 3 weeks ago, but began my searches 2 weeks before that and I started out being very particular.
I stuck to my guns on certain features....had to be a '14 GT Premium 'vert with a stick, and absolutely no Electronics/Nav pkg, Brembo, or back up camera.
But I compromised on color since I couldn't locate what I wanted anywhere east of the Mississippi. I had a dealer who was willing to swap up to 500 miles one-way, and I was willing to pay for transport beyond that. I found plenty that had automatics and the electronics package in any color I wanted.
I finally had to decide what was most important to me in a GT Prem 'vert, so it boiled down to the stick shift. As it turned out, once I freed my head of the color barrier, I had to look no further than my dealer's showroom floor. And because it came out of his inventory, he gave a better deal than had I taken a swap. Thankfully my car has the 401A w/Cashmere which makes a huge difference in a black Mustang.
Your situation may be different depending what your needs/desires are.
I suspect though that in the upcoming months we're going to see a lot of owners and new forum members with black 2014's.

They might get a little better but if so it probably won't be until there are very few left ( later in the year), but the current ones are great, buy now and enjoy the car during the summer!!!
Yeah, that's not true. Sales have remained pretty consistent with the past couple years, which is good since people know the new one is coming, so would have to think the incentives are driving that for the most part. But if they'd doubled sales, they'd be selling almost 20,000 per month, which hasn't happened in a LONG time.

Wow over $4000 off! And i thought my $3000 off was awesome. I cant say for a fact if prices will go down more than they are now but i do know that the pickings will be getting slimmer by the day! The chances of getting exactly what you want might be tough very soon! Good luck and enjoy your new Stang!
Remember the extra $1000, at least in my case, required the purchase of a premium model, which increases the cost by $4100 (i.e. a difference of $3100).
Also, I think the prices were lower earlier in the year? I swear the GT used to start almost exactly at 30k, now the site shows 31.2k!

Thanks for all the input, I have one last set of questions. First, did you guys pay the regional advertising fees? Talking with some dealers it seems it might be negotiable (here in California if that matters). Also, what target price should I shoot for? Invoice+incentives? Below invoice? Anymore buying advice appreciated.

I did X plan and advertising fees did apply.
X plan is easy and pretty fair I think. To simplify, it's basically dealer invoice and doc fee is limited to $100. This is why I had to pay the advertising fee, because they are assessed by Ford on the dealer invoice.
Anyone can get it I hear, by joining Mustang Club of America.
But I have heard reports of people getting deals better than x plan.
Also don't forget the $750 coupon. Request a brochure from the Ford site, coupons are seemingly randomly issued. I also think that you can become a supporting member of IUPA and get the $750 police discount, but it doesn't work with AZXD plans. I was going to try this but gave up when I realized it wasn't compatible with my ~$3000 discounts from the X plan.
