Will Brembo's fit with these wheels?

I've noticed that when you want to choose the Brembo brake package on the Ford website, it always changes the wheel choice. Do these 19" nickel wheels not fit the Brembo's somehow?

I don't think so.

It's a close tolerance fit.

I think with wheel spacers you can, but I'm would never recommend wheel spacers for anyone.

The main issue with Brembo clearance is not about wheel diameter, but the wider caliper clearing the inside of the spokes. The factory Brembo wheels only have about a credit card with (or 2) between the spokes and the side of the caliper.

This is ridiculous. Properly designed spacers are fine (and used in racing sometimes).

While this is true, you're absolutely going to be left with less threads under your lugs and greater wear and tear on the wheel bearings.

All fine if you're running a race car that will get overhauled every few races or even once a season, not good if you're putting 100k on the car, driving over things like potholes, curbs, pedestrians, etc.

Personally, I'd avoid them if possible...but yeah, you can probably get away with them for a very long time.

So then the Brembo's would fit with spacers on the 19" nickel wheels? I wouldn't be using the car at a track if that makes any difference.

Unless you have bolt on spacers with new studs...

I ran 1" spacers on my SN95 for 5 years, 100k (hard) miles, dozens of mountain road passes on crap roads, been t-boned and still no issues. Maximum Motorsports wouldn't sell them if they weren't safe. I also run their .25" front spacer which is the max you can go without needing longer studs.

OP, no one knows for sure how much of a spacer you'd need, but I'd imagine you'd be safe with .5" but I'd go 1" all around. Get the ones that bolt on so you don't have to worry about longer studs. It will give your car a wider stance and look great! are you lowered too?

No, the car is just at the stock ride height.

Yeah, definitely not much clearance with the Brembos and the OEM 19's ... lol

I'm glad i ran into this thread I have a set of OEM 07' Shelby Brembos i plan on installing onto my 2012 V6. They run an 18x8 wheel. My Dad's OEM Shelby wheels were 18x9 Front and 18x10 rear. Now I cant remember what the space looked like before he Super Snaked it, but is there a chance THAT set up could fit with those wheels or would I need to get wider wheels/ spacers? If wheels/ spacers are needed then how wide should I go?

It's hard to say because there's not unit of measure in a wheel that determines how much clearance the spokes will give at any given point (offset is close, but isn't a direct measurement of this sort of thing). That being said, American Muscle sells some 18x8 wheels that will clear the Brembos, so it can be done in that size.

I actually made a thread in the V6 section, but thanks. I have the Pony Package wheels not sure if that helps but I would definitely like to test fit my wheels on a Shelby to know for sure.

Your wheels won't fit over the Brembos without a spacer. I'd say 0.5" minimum, 1" to be sure. And if you run 1" in front, you may as well run 1" in the rear. And honestly, I don't know if 1" would do it, but I'd bet it would be enough. 1" is a big difference with these tolerances...

Is it safe to run a 1" spacer? Or are there any negatives to using a spacer?

If your driving over pedestrians you probably shouldn't be driving

Ok cool. Ill start looking into spacers, however I'm being told there may be a difference with the older 07'-09' GT 500 Brembos vs the newer 10'+. Im going to look into it a bit. Thanks for the info.
