Why so few Brembo equipped cars on dealer lots????

Based on what I have read here, and the value associated with the package, I was planning on ordering a Brembo package when it is time to order my new car. However, I cannot find a dealer close to me that has one with the Brembo package for a proper test drive. If this package is so popular then how come there are so few Brembo equipped cars being ordered for dealer lots?

Not sure if anyone knows, or if they think this will get better in the next month or so, but as of right now, my three state area (and we are talking big states) has about a total of three cars with Brembos.

Should I hesitate to order the Brembo package if I have not had the opportunity to test drive a 2011 with the package. I have read different thoughts on this forum and it seems most people love the package, but some complain about the ride being a bit more bumpy.

Sorry to rehash an old and common topic, and yes I did read the old threads dating as far back as March when it was mostly speculation. Just reaching out for some thoughts as to why there are so few out there on lots as well as suggestions on the order.

I think Ford underestimated the amount of people that would want the package. Maybe it's too popular of a package and people are snapping them up?

Probably because people are buying them so quickly off the lots when they show up.

Why would you need to test drive one before ordering?

Brembos have been out for 5 model years(GT500) now so they are well sorted out.

Yeah I think dealerships are underestimating it as well

I think it's probably tougher for a dealer to sell the average buyer on a "brake package". In Canada it's a $1,700 option and that really jacks up the sticker price! The average buyer is probably just not interested enough and the dealer doesn't want cars on his lot that are a little harder to move so they go with the safer options.

I agree...The "sport" oriented dealers order Brembo cars, the typical dealer would rather go the pedestal spoiler/hood scoop route as "most" people eventually buy on appearance (or price). Only the enthusiasts are seeking out Brembo cars and we represent a smaller cross section of the buying public..Same reason you see few glass roofed cars on the lots......It's a relatively limited appeal option that someone must be willing to pay a premium for..Dealers need to be turning cars, not see them sitting on their lot for 60 days.. My Brembo car sat for several months at another store before my dealer found it and went to get it for me. They were probably glad to get rid of it and I was glad to get it..

Agreed.

Some enthusiast with mysteriously similar tastes to mine spec'd my car out, which for one reason or another ended up sitting on a lot for a couple months in Middle America before I came to take it away.

Try to find an HID equipped Mustang on a dealer lot ... probably just as uncommon as a Brembo car.

When I was searching to find 2010 cars last Winter to see in person the various features and colors I was considering, there were only 2 or 3 HID equipped Mustangs sitting on dealer lots between Chicago and Green Bay.

Unless it is some mega-dealer with 30+ Mustangs in inventory all the time I think most dealers are pretty conservative with what they order for stock.

Or what the sales manager/order guy likes. I've got 2 rural dealers here that I've shopped at. One ordered his first few cars with Brembo's (but does sell a few GT500's hence his orientation). The other orders ALL his cars with the Pedestal spoiler/hood scoop package and polished 18" wheels. I guess he's more comfortable with that..

When I was looking to order my car, a dealer said there was 1 spec'd out exactly how I wanted it plus a few extra options in the entire U.S. And it happened to be at a local dealer.

That was destiny.

Wow, you guys all seem to have it tough. My dealer has 3 nearly identical HID/Brembo/3.73 cars on the lot. Other dealers seem to have other "groups" like glass roofs, verts, and base GTs, but they're readily available to find and test drive.

I ordered mine with every option box checked and 3.55s. Chance of finding one of those on a lot: ~3%. But then, not many dealers would expect to actually sell a $42,000 mustang.

The dealer I used had a few Brembos on the lot but mostly 3.55 in everything. They had a decent selection when it came to options/colors.

Other dealers seemed to order the same car over and over only exterior color being different. HOW BORING.

I would want brembos, 3.73s, HIDs, glass roof, electronics, and camera in grabber blue with the interior blue accents. Try to find one of those sitting around LOL.....

Brembo's and 3.73's are easy to find in the DFW area now. Brembo's with any other gear is probably nearly impossible anywhere. It's like an automatic assumption that the two go together. It's a pretty good call as most seem to adhere to the 3.73 gears. Anyway, I have seen plenty of Brembo cars here. Honestly as a dealer I would only expect to sell a few as enthusiasts vs. normal customer is really stacked against the enthusiast.

It all depends on where you look. My local dealer has about 20 GTs, and about half have the Brembos.

Same with me but it was the West Coast of Canada instead of Middle America
I got EXACTLY what I wanted on the lot. The only thing on the car I didn't want was a block heater (don't need it in Vancouver), but figured its worth it in case I move or drive back home to Edmonton brrr....
