Are they the same size buttons? Maybe we can order a replacement

Maybe they found people to be idiots, and they were inadvertently turning it off when they thought they turned it on...the brain dead seem to rule and the rest of us have to suffer them.

Maybe people were confused as to what the button was for. Looks like it could be launch control or something. It doesn't even say off in the 2010/2011.

Just trying to come up with a reason guys. Not saying I like the change at all.

They probably switched other cars over to use the same button and they wanted to only have one part number to cover all the cars it fits so they went to a generic pictogram instead of a Mustang specific one.

COST CUTTING MEASURE...

Agreed. The custom Mustang one is awesome. I just don't see how you could mistake it when it says in big letters on the dash "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" when you press it.

Maybe they need to add the word "OPEN" for the trunk release.

Oh thats what that ones for. I thought it raised a spoiler like the picture shows.

That is a bad design I'll write to Ford to get that misleading switch changed too.

The first button looks like a burnout button.

Well in all fairness (thanks to dumb people + lawyers) the trunk won't pop if you push that at speed -- but I'd bet dollars to donuts that some idiot will get (or already has gotten) into an accident and will try/tried to sue Ford for not making it more clear that the button wasn't a "burnout button" and turned off his traction control.

There are usually 2 motivating factors for these type of changes:

Legal CYA and cost savings. If you find another Ford that has the same set of switches, it is probably the latter, but (without actually looking) I don't think that there is ...

Good eyes, Topnotch... but guessing by your avatar pic, you're clearly a TCS icon enthusiast.

It's cool to see these tiny year over year changes and variations...it would be nice to know the back story too.

I've been upset since the day my car was delivered that the trunk release switch in my convertible has an icon of a coupe. I think they installed the wrong switch.

They changed it for all of the Rear End Haters, that just couldn't pass up the 5.0, but didn't want to have to look at the Rear End every day......

In all honesty it really does suck. Like they say, the Devil is in the Details, and if they are starting to overlook the little details like this switch, what's next?
