Where are all the Red Candy Mustangs?
I have a Red Candy Mustang on order but don't see many in this or other forums. Even in the colour forums there are only 8 threads. Yellow Blaze has the same and that colour has been out for only a short time.
On the road I have only ever seen one Red Candy - which was not even from around here. Why is this colour not popular? I think it looks really nice. It stands out from the crowd without being too much in your face like the Grabber Blue or Race Red.
The only thing I don't like that much is that the tail lights kind of clash with the red colour. I am **** about things like that.
I'd be interested to hear from Red Candy owners how they like their choice - or from others why they didn't chose it.
Maybe some of you also have some shots of the backend. Couldn't really find any good ones online or on the net.

I love my Red Candy GT. I think the biggest reason is probably because it's more expensive, and the other colors are pretty nice looking too. I had it between Kona and Candy. Went with Candy because as a child every car we owned was blue, and I thought Candy looked just a bit better. Different too. I have some pics in the Garage, but no tail light pic. If I remember I'll try to snap one. The colors never bothered me, but maybe I never paid attention.

I was torn between Red Candy and Black, but once I saw the two side by side, it was no contest. IMHO, in the bright sun, there is no other color that looks as good as Red Candy. Smokin' cool.
Edit: just for the record, this is my fourth "burgandy" mustang. The '89 was Cabernet (sp?) Red, the '96 ?, the 2001 was Laser Red and now Red Candy.

Here's my red candy GT. The stripes and wheels are aftermarket. What's great about this color is how it looks in direct sunlight - really shows off the metal flake in the paint.
My guess is this color is more popular with women than men. Just a guess.

Redfire and Red Candy just don't seem to get much love, even the GT500's were never available in those colors.
I had an 05 GT in Redfire. I remember trying to decide what color to get my GT and one dealer had all the color choices on his lot. When the cars were side-by-side Redfire absolutely stood out the most, it was beautiful.
I don't understand why these colors of red seem less popular? I thought Torch Red looked too dull and I feel the same about Race Red.
Red Candy would definitely be my 1st or 2nd choice (Kona is in there and Yellow Blaze is moving up).
I like the deep shine that Redfire and Red Candy have (Red Candy seems a bit brighter).
As for your taillights clashing....maybe get some taillight tinting?

and that one too!
Here are a couple more pics, 2010 Red Candy with stock wheels. Like the others have said it looks great in a lot of lighting conditions, direct sunlight really shows the metalic, it's reasonably easy to keep looking good. (I don't have a lot of time for that, so it's a good thing)
For me it's actually a little on the bright side . . . people keep warning me it is a ticket magnet, though I haven't been stopped yet (probably because I drive carefully) . . . . if I had my choice and was doing it over again, I'd probably go with something just a little darker / more subtle like Kona Blue.

I think it is not as popular is because it doesn't photograph as well as other colors. Not bashing anyone's pictures or photographing skills, but you have to admit that seeing it in person is a whole different experience. Same with grabber blue, it looks good in pictures, but in person it has much more impact and "wow" factor. The color comes off as a flat shade in pictures, but you really see the depth in sunlight IMHO.
This being said, dealer told me my red candy 5.0 is in transit. Can't wait.
