Actually the date you put donw is Job1, so i'm guessing MT will have something about the 2011 on their website the same day. That would make sense. Can't wait.

I passed another 'herd' of test cars tonight, including a GT500. Rolled the window down to listen to the sweet sounds of the exhaust.

I recommend you do that and visit a dealer to see the new interiors. I drove to a dealer an hour away a couple weeks ago to see the 2010 interior (specifically a Performance White car with the Brick Red leather interior - God it was gorgeous!). I love my Screaming Yellow '05, but they don't make that color anymore, so I'm very impressed with the white/red combo - it's striking and classy at the same time. And now I know I'd be real happy with a white and red 2011 5.0.

When the Camaro came out there was what they called an "embargo" on magazine reviews until a certain date -- and when that date came, there were a flood of reviews immediately. Does anyone know of such an embargo date on the 2011 Mustang reviews?

 

No, but I live/work/drive in an area that sees a ton of Ford traffic. I know most of the test routes that they take with the heavily camo'ed cars, as well as am very close to AAI where they build them. That should explain a lot.

 

I know it isn't March yet . . . . but I hope we get something more to look at or read soon! I can only watch the "first ride" video so many times . . .

okay so I am getting tired of no "news" for the GT....the v6 has already had a first "ride" so where is the 5.0 love??? I've been waiting a year for it

 

You think they could at least do this for us. As it is we have to wait longer for our cars to be built. They just can not give us something to hold us over? I hope these cars are as good as they are supposed to be.

 

Build delays, no news, no nothing. Hum, souds strange. They're up to someting. Maybe it has something to do with the forged internals we've been complaining about !!! Maybe they're in the process of reforging everything. But then, maybe i'm wrong. I'm as anxious as everybody here on this site. Gotta go get my meds.

 

Maybe they are putting Manley rods in them so this doesn't happen to them..yeah right.

 

FWIW, Dodge had some issues with the Getrag trans they put in the Chally which delayed the 6 spd r/t for a while.

Wonder if it's a trans issue?

 

Are far as I know there is no "issue" per se, its more of a lets double check to be safe kind of thing.

 

Or maybe they are just trying to clear the lots of as many 2010s as possible. As soon as the 2011s hit the mainstream media it will be even harder to sell a 2010 GT. Hard to believe but not everybody reads themustangsource.com.

 

I'm thinking this too. Ford already has 11,000 preorders for the new mustang, plus Toyota is on its heels, so Ford is back to number 1. Why would they need to fire the bullet in this chamber yet? From a marketing standpoint, it would almost make sense for them to wait until the Mustangs are about to hit showrooms before starting the marketing barrage.

I know we hate it, but from a practical standpoint, it's probably a better strategy for Ford.

 

Better believe it, they're some dudes over at Ford getting paid just to watch Mustang and Ford products being discussed on the net and report it to Mulally himself....ok,ok, maybe some other group inside marketing or engineering. But they're watching. Ask Brad, he knows.
