When picking up a new car

Besides a full walk around of the ext/int is there anything I should look for before I accept the car from the dealer?

I would make sure everything works. Look under the hood, look under the car, inside the trunk, everywhere. But I'm one of those guys who's really thorough

Look for anything egregious. Past that, it's under warranty. I figured I'd compile a short list of stuff to have the dealer fix after my 1st week, but that didn't happen - nothing turned up wrong at all! But not all dealers prep/inspect as good as the others.

Make sure your transmission wasn't built in China.

Might want to check the oil before you drive off...

Ask about any features. Your salesperson may not know but normally someone there will. I'm sure I'll have questions about the SYNC system in my case.

I don't care how long you walk around it or how carefully you look, you're gonna see things you missed when you wash/wax it. When you take it in, they ALWAYS ask why you didn't identify the problems at delivery... so tell them ahead of time you'll be back after the first time you wash it to identify the things that need attention.

And what, no pics?

Congrats

Have fun trying to sleep tonight. I did the same thing when my car came in, went and checked the car out and picked it up the next day, and needless to say, I didn't sleep much that night. Especially knowing my car was 20 minutes away after having waited 3 months for it!

I ended up taking two pictures of the car so I could at least look at those until I had a chance to pick it up.

Same thing here. Car came in, couldn't take it home that night since I couldn't get to the credit union, and then had to work the next day. It sucked soooooo hardcore

Congrats on finally getting to pick her up! I still feel like a kid on Christmas, and I'm getting close to a year now with mine. Thought I would have gotten over it by now (it's my first 'stang), but I sure as hell ain't complaining. Nice to see the aluminum 18s getting some love
