Yes and no. It's not a difficult job to do, just a difficult job to do, right.

Why would it suck? Some of us love steep gears. They're a torque multiplier, and doesn't like more torque?!?! In fact, I recently ordered 4.56's for my '11 GT to replace the factory 3.73's. I'll just skip gears when driving around town, and use them all when I'm wide-open-throttle.

Don't do it yourself if you don't know how or never did it before. They really have to be set up right or you can mess things up. Like Joe said, it's not hard if you know what you're doing usually. Even the pros have messed up a few in their days.

Um, it would suck because 1st gear is already steep in the manual. 4.56s would have you tooling around at 3k rpm in a parking lot. Lol. Sure might work out on the strip but a terrible idea for a DD. it would lower his mpg to 4x4 levels on the highway as well. I just really don't see the point of turning a 6 speed into a 5 speed with a crawler gear IMO

Thanks for the reply. Approx how much do you have to pay for the installation? (If you know)

Question

So does this mean i will not get the electronic display thing between the rpm and mph gauges? Or just a few apps will be missing in it?

You can install a set of 3.31, 3.55 or 3.73 gears for around $ 600 including the gears and you will kill the 3.31 stangs. Just saying. If the higher gear is what your looking for besides the stock 2.73 gear.

So what gears do you recommend for an auto trans 2011 V6?

Like I said, I wouldn't go past 3.73s if you do any decent amount of highway driving. You will definitely feel the difference with 3.73s or 3.55s coming from the 2.73 gears. Obviously its your car, but I could not live with being over 3K in 6th on the highway....

The base is way worth it.
