ordering how many of your guys have experience with the stock MT82 shifter and what have you upgraded to and how much smoother or better is your new upgrade?
do you have less trouble going into gear under load? many have been having issues with going into 2nd and 3rd under load, or 3rd or 4th misses.
i figured since my car is getting a full upgrade, i might as well upgrade the weak spots.

Do a search for this topic - you'll find tons of discussion about it, as lots of guys aren't happy with the stock shifter. Personally, it's pretty **** good so I haven't felt the need to mod it.

The actual shifter itself is basically just a stick with a pivot ball.
I suggest just trying the rear bracket before replacing the whole shifter, might give you just the feel you want and cost a whole lot less.

I'm happy with my Steeda shifter. I love it. There are lots of good brands out there MGW, Barton, and Hurst to name a few. I'm sure you will find one that suits your needs.

I have the MGW shifter and it is a huge improvement over stock. Haven't missed a shift with it yet, even at 7200 rpm shifts at the dragstrip. You definitely know which gear you're hitting - no vagueness like the stock shifter. Well worth the money!
