2010-2014 Mustang Information on The S197 {GenII}

What would be your next car if you were to trade in your current 2010-2014 Mustang?

A 13 or 14 V and I have my eyes on one. Id really like to have a new one, but **** sticker shock plus dealers mark up sucks.

I have not intention of getting rid of my 2011, but if I had to replace it in the near future it would probably be a GT350. I prefer the looks of the S197, but after riding in one around Sebring it is tempting.

I'd also take a new C7 Corvette.

I would LOVE a BMW M4, but they don't make enough power. Nice torque though. Even with tunes and mods, they just aren't raw enough for me, I guess. I do love them though. Seen a couple in town the last week. Awesome looking and very aggressive looking.
A C7 Z06 would be killer. Pricey, but I think you can get great deals on them if you now the right vendors. Some great vendors with great discounts on those cars. Criswell, Conti and McGlauphin (sp??) come to mind.

I've been lucky enough to own my dream cars or at least a version of them. I wanted a S4, I bought and A4. I wanted a 240z, I bought a 300z. I wanted a Shelby and I bought a GT. I've wanted a M3(M4 now) forever. I did have have a 325 when I was younger. I guess it would have to be an actual Shelby gt350 (or Gt500) or a M4(or M3 2 door). Lol, someday I hope to be able to afford the actual car I want. I'm a teacher so that might never happen. I'm perfectly happy with the close enoughs I've had. My GT has been amazing. Other then the moments when expensive repairs happen, I can't imagine ever not having it.

Well said, good post.

I'd love the GT350 Track Pack car. It's $54k excluding any dealer markup or tax. So $60k basically. I have absolutely loved my car, and the mods I've made to it keep making it better and better. And if I were to trade it in (or sell privately rather) I'd get ~$25k or so.

So I would need to spend extra $35k in addition to trading my car in to get one. Doable? Sure.
Worth cashing in a good part of savings to make it happen. Absolutely not if you ask me.

This is why if something happened to my car right now I'd have to go with a new Camaro 1LE or a used GT500 (and dump $2000 in suspension mods to make it track worthy).

Oh, and all in all I'm quite heedful of how much quicker that car is than mine. He was the fastest in my run group. I guess I'm ok with being 2nd fastest given the price it would cost.

Why go from a 13 5.0 to a wheezy 15 turbo 4? (if you read all the latest mag reviews/articles on it, the Eco 4 starts out torquey down low, but quickly loses steam going up in the rev range).

This is the best response thus far. Though I share your sentiments, I've already told my wife when I turn 40 or 41, I will be getting "Something". That's in a couple years or so. Here's to "hoping" :crossesfingers:

So that means, I'd get something ALONGSIDE Marilyn - not trade her in or sell. Do my answers still count?

If so, here's my list:

a) Used, but unmolested (I repeat - must be UNMOLESTED - in other words I have to find someone exactly like me, who owned the car. Low miles, and paint must be in EXCELLENT shape. You guys know me and detailing) E90 or E92 or E93 - sedan, coupe, convertible respectively. I've always wanted an M car and the V8 addiction I got from Ford now has me thirsting nothing less than an 8 cylinder cup.

b) Used Viper - same as above criteria in terms of condition. Model year around 2003 - 2006

c) SRT Challenger or Charger - I know it's a Chrysler, but man, have you guys heard one in person modded up with a tasteful exhaust and headers? I have. And it makes me want to get one based on sound alone.

d) Subaru STI - I almost bought one (literally) last year. Instead, I bought our Infiniti SUV.

e) New Camaro SS or ZL1, even a used ZL1 is fine too.

Father, forgive me for I have sinned. Marilyn, forgive me for I have sinned these sinful thoughts.

Fun question!

I would, of course, love to get a new S550 GT or a GT350 (especially the '17 since it comes with MagneRide standard). But that's an obvious answer, so here's my list if I wasn't going to another Mustang.
  1. Focus RS (or a ST, depending on my budget)
  2. Challenger (one of the V8's - I do appreciate the extra 5" of rear legroom they provide versus the Mustang. Makes it almost practical with kid seats).
  3. Camaro SS (basically the same thing as the Mustang)
  4. Jaguar XE (beautiful and not cliche like a BMW 3 is, especially once the manual transmission version gets here)
  5. 2017 Fusion Sport (fun, stick with Ford, more practical)
  6. VW GTi

Were you talking to me? lol... wasn't sure since no quotes

But to your question - what do you mean? I guess the answer would be not much. If I drive 2k - 3k per year on Marilyn, the new/other toy car will split the difference between the 2 cars, so 1-1.5k miles between the 2 cars (reducing each's mileage).

I wont be trading or selling unless things change financially... But the next purchase will probably be a Raptor for my wife.

If my job changes and I find myself needing a daily, I might have to consider trading on a Focus RS
