What should I do?

My car was ordered on 3-19-11 with the options in my sig. All was fine and dandy and got a VIN number. Went home after work and pulled up my window sticker only to find out that the spoiler delete option was not on there.

I called up my salesperson to inform them of the mistake and she said she would get back to me. Got a call last night saying I was right and that they could reorder the car. I can't wait another 8 weeks for another one to come in because my sister is finishing highschool in 2 weeks.

Went to the dealer today and asked if they could order a new trunk lid without the spoiler and just paint it GB. They said it would be $1000 for them to do that. The manager suggested that they just remove the spoiler and fill in the holes on the trunk.

I kinda don't want any body related work done to my car but from what others have done to thiers when they remove the spoilers it looks like it comes out good.

I just feel in the back of my mind I will always know that this work has been done. I am debating just keeping the spoiler and dealing with it.

End rant. Just wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks.

What does your sister's high school graduation have to do with anything?

She is getting my brothers car. He is taking over our Honda Odyssey. My dad gets the 07 and I ordered the 12 to coincide with her getting out of highschool. She needs a car to drive.

Get them to give you a pre-painted GT500 spoiler instead. Probably costs around the same they would be charged for getting the holes filled!

I have though aout going that route with an aftermarket spoiler but I am just not sure. I like the clean look of SD. The 500 spoiler is great but I would rather nothing at all.

It seems like everyone is doing the CS front GT500 rear spoiler. I kinda want the car to be a little different than everyone elses.

keep it and then keep an eye out for someone that has a spoiler delete that wants to trade or find one in the bone yard in a short while.

Keep the spoiler. You wont regret it. Also you can always go the aftermarket spoiler as well. Roush one looks great too.

Sounds like the dealer should try a LOT harder to make this right - body work and painting is a stupid option. Trunk lid swap sounds like a no brainer, as long as the color matches perfectly. At LEAST a discount for their screw-up.

In the end, if you end up with a spoiler, it is not the end of the world. But sucks that the dealer screwed up and you have to live with it and make a payment on it, or have body work on a new car...sorry dude.

Like Glenn said. I'd keep it and look for someone willing to trade. If it were my car, I'd be paranoid that the body work would be obvious - at least to me. I'd rather look at a spoiler I didn't want than at dimples/imperfections.

Just don't get a GT500 spoiler. We don't need two GB 5.0's in the same city with GT500 spoilers

Sucks about the screw up though

^^ lol. Okay I won't get it. Im leaning towards keeping it because as some of you have stated I don't want it coming out like crap.

Hopefully all this works out for me. Ill call the dealer up next week and tell them to leave the spoiler on. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

OT Scott Where are you in NOLA?

I have only seen 2 GB 10+ in Nola. One was a GT and the other was a V6 Pony Pack. I will keep an eye out though.

lol yeah almost. Nothing like a clean decklid. Oh well. At least they didn't leave off one of the other options I ordered.

^^ Where in LA are you from Al?

Been looking at pics of members rides and spoiler delete looks so clean. I don't know what I want done. I want to keep it so no body work is done but Id be happier with them doing the work and having the car the way I ordered it.
