What do dealerships charge to fix a flat tire?
Got a nail in my tire and it has a slow leak. Hate dealing with the local tire shops . Anyone have an idea of what a Ford Dealership will charge to plug/patch it?

Patch is better than a plug, but you have to take the tire off the wheel, then more than likely have to re-balance.

When is a dealer's charge ever competitive with outside companies? Never seen it.
Go to Discount (America's) Tire store, I think it's around $8-10 to fix the nail hole.
And it's probably a whole lot faster than sitting at the dealer.

Discount tire is free. They did 2 of my tires for free. They are probably banking on the fact that it cannot be repaired and u must buy a tire there or slap on your spare for the time being.

At least my dealer (here in sunny FL) is very competive with discount stores (e.g. Tire Kingdom, etc.) and will repair the damage at a reasonalbe/competive rate AND will fill it up with nitrogen, if you're not running on "plain air".

I don't know if you have the Brembo Pkg, but the Pirelli summers that come with it come with a 1 year warranty against everything according to the book that came with the car and tirerack.com. I had a small leak the first week I had mine. It was a small screw. Took it to Discount Tire and they fixed it for free per the warranty as they are a Pirelli dealer. So, it should be free anywhere you take it.
Also, +10000000 for Discount Tire. I have used them since I was 18 in Atlanta, Tallahassee, and now Orlando. Always great service and never a complaint.

I had a screw in my right rear recently . . . amazingly enough it didn't even leak until I pulled the screw out . . . plugged it myself in my driveway using a plug kit from Wally World for about $10 . . . have checked the pressure several times and it is holding fine . . .
Is there any real reason to have a tire place patch it, versus the plug which seems to be fine?
