Well that's what I'm planning to find out! They'll be put through the ringer with track days time. I've used 2-piece rotors in the past, but they were floating, so I'm interested to see how these hold up

I took the Mustang in to check the brakes - I was getting a pull to the left and something didn't feel quite right. Plus, I took the wheels off and the pads looked thin.

So they checked it out, confirmed front brakes/pads - but they said when it was up on the lift they were able to move the wheels quite a bit. Thinking it was a suspension issue they checked it over and everything was tight and up to spec.......................until he checked the steering shaft. That was held together just barely with a thread and ready to come apart fully!

So tighten up the steering shaft, do an alignment, and front brake rotors and pads.

Since they have to keep the car overnight, and as a Lincoln owner they always treat us well, I have a new MKC as a loaner until the Mustang is ready.

Still waiting to see if they can find the source of a random mis-fire. I checked the plugs and they are gapped properly, so my next thought was the COPS with maybe one going bad. Unfortunately when it happens it never sets a code so it doesn't even give me a clue, just a flashing CEL.

I'm on a never ending quest for detail products that work best for me and my black Mustang. Last week I took a shot at Turtle Wax polish/wax system for black cars. I was pleasantly surprised. It fills chips (not completely, but enough to make then less noticeable), leaves a really intense finish, and works incredibly well on plastic trim.

At Sunday's show a vendor selling Croftgate products demo'd a waterless system on another black Mustang, in direct sunlight. If I didn't see it I wouldn't have believed it. The car came out amazing. I bought a bottle and used it today to clean off Sunday's road dust and 2 days of garage goobers. So far I'm impressed, and it's much much easier than dealing with a hose and Masterblaster dryer to to cut down on water spotting, which is severe here.

I doubt I'd use it on a neglected car, but mine always has a recent coat of wax and is well maintained, so cleaning is much easier.

That's the way to go on a well maintained car or one that doesn't go out in wet pavement or rain.

 

Not sure what the best way to fix it is. Can't afford any major work. It's not huge, but on a black car it stands out like a sore thumb. Need to figure something out soon.

 

Looks like you'll need a PDR specialist and then some touch up work to the paint. No harm in taking it to a shop to get an estimate! I'm sure it would probably be under $500

 

There's no dent though. It's just a good, deep chip.

I would at least use some touch up paint to cover the area until you get it fixed. You can fix the area yourself with time and patience. The area will need to be filled then you can use touch up paint. After that you would have to use 2000 grit sandpaper to just to get that area smooth and even with the surface around the chip. Lightly buff the area to get the scratches out then apply your clear and repeat the sanding and buffing.

Yeah that's on a crease. There's no good way to PDR that. If the paint is fully chipped off like that, that might have to be a fill and paint in that section, then reclear the entire door/panel. Sorry man. You're looking at a few hundred bucks worth of work.

Question: The Boss's have no driving (Fog) lights or are they hidden behind the grill? I really like the look of the blank-out plates but use my "Fogs" often and wouldn't want to delete them.

How'd you get a locking glove box? I always wished my '13 could be locked.

 

You can use the boss grill with your fogs but you have to remove the delete plates and break off the mounting tab for them. You can also just by the grill and emblem without the plates from the dealer.
