What all this hopping around?
#22
I don't have any wheel hop. It has been nothing but hot since I got my car, so maybe weather could be a factor ( tire temp )? If anything, from a dig race I get a lot of wheel spin, but no hop. I still want LCAs for better grip and corner carving.

You're comparing apples to oranges here. Your cobra has an IRS (unless you converted it) and your Mach 1 has a 4 link suspension on the solid rear axle. Since 2005, the Mustang has had a 3 link rear suspension, 2 lowers and 1 upper on the pumpkin. Great for handling because a 4 link will bind in heavy cornering, not so good for wheel hop. As far as wheel hop goes, 4 link > 3 link > IRS. Replace your bushings and LCA's, then learn how to turn, and you will love your mustang.

next time you go out..
drop the clutch with traction control on either mode.. like your doing a burnout,..
trust me.. you will have wheel hop..
i shut the t/c completley off. hit second hard enough and get hop even in third..
need to put LCA's with poly bushings on to fix, the LCA factory bushings are very soft..

Get the UMI Performance anti-hop kit. It's LCAs and relocation brackets (if you're lowered and/or want a better launch) and made a huge improvement in my handling off the line and in the curves. I'm 10x more confident in how the car will handle when I do some things.
If you just want the control arms, their quality is great and the price is irresistible.

Finally experienced wheel hop last night. Was with a buddy and gunned it up slightly uphill on a bridge, hopped around 2nd to 3rd if I can recall.
Looks like if the solution is to get it lowered = that might happen sooner than I had planned!

Dumping the clutch at 6k seems kinda counter productive to me?? At that point I do not believe you are going to get a good launch (over power the tires) unless they are slicks.
