Looking at the options for the '15;
No V6 Premium available
Ruby red/saddle interior not available
Spare tire is an option
I'll keep my '13.

I can help you visualize what that might look like.

I love my 2013 GT but I really like the new car. I may end up with the new one replacing my wife's 2010 SHO.

I saw a 15 in person at the 50th Anniversary Mustang show in Lincoln. It was white... And for me that color did zero justice for the car. The wheels did not either... The car was surrounded by ropes so I could not see the interior at all. The thing that bothered me most though was the under hood appearance. The S197 5.0 looks great. The 550 engine cover just looked wrong. And the coolant reservoir was ugly and looked like a after thought. I am sure with the right color and better wheels it will be a beautiful car... Carrying on the legacy. But I am glad I own a S197.

I've been pretty defensive of the 2015 car because I felt like lots of people have been so adamant that the Mustang should stay retro in both styling and suspension technology, which I disagree with strongly.

Having read 8+ reviews of it, the IRS and interior are big wins/upgrades. However, I'm disappointed that the new car is heavier, not faster and gets worse mileage. None of that should happen with a new car like this. I'm pretty sure the GT350 is going to be amazing especially if the rumored flat plane crank motor comes to fruition. However, I'm thinking the Camaro's new version is going to be significantly lighter and that's going to really expose the S550 platform's weaknesses. The EcoBoost's power/mileage is impressive, for a four cylinder, but the V6 was just as good for less cost and complexity. Feels like that change was forced to push the EcoBoost name and because it was more appropriate for European markets. I get it but still am a bit disappointed.

Finally, I do like the styling of the new car pretty well...except the grille. It's too wide just like the S197's, unless there's fog lights in there to take up space. Wonder if there will be aftermarket kits to fix that. Looking forward to seeing one in person but don't think I'm going to be jealous enough to even fathom taking on more car payments to get one.

To be honest, I think the S550 is a great evolution and while a lot of the focus has changed I still think it is a superior car to previous Mustang generations, but really only in terms of market competition and dynamics.

I love my 2011 though, last time I said "this is the last Mustang I'll ever own" was about my 2003 so what do I know about the future?

I think a 2017, 2018, or 2019 w/ the domestic-maker classic rebates could be in the cards!

If you bought a V6 for what I think you bought it for - you're gonna love the ecoboost.

Kinda early to ask anyone to be honest, the reviews just came out, and they are just a few peoples opinion, not the 100,000+ people per year that will buy and own them.

I bet in 1-years time, we will start to see a new ownership demographic and even more wildly varying personal opinions.

The most curious thing will be to find out how well they built the rear suspension, and how it holds up on the drag strip and track. I'm most concerned with the rear control arms bushings and the axles.

I'd heard that a live axle rear end would be available for drag racing applications.

...and I wonder how difficult it would be for a fabricator to mount up the new IRS to an S197.

Best of both worlds?

Pretty sure it would be only be for the no street legal Cobra Jet. Chevy and Chrysler do the same for their drag racing only Camaro and Challenger versions.

The Cobra guys have been swapping their IRS for GT SRAs for years. I'm sure someone will make a kit. Maybe Full Tilt Boogie or Whiteline....

Awesome pic John. I could even put NAMES of people on this forum to those 2 ponies on the right who are JUST like that...

Mike, to answer your post/question:

Nothing. More I see, more I read, saw a couple in person, great car, but not to replace Marilyn. Maybe as an accompaniment, but as others have stated, maybe a different sports car, instead of the 2015+ Mustangs... it just doesn't do it for me.

If I move away from the Mustang I will go either BMW M3 or 911. I would be spending the same money as a GT500 with the Performance pack.

For me the GT500 Shelby is more than just a $$$$$!! Its all about owning a "Sheby GT500". Shelby was a legend and now he is gone! I dream of owning a 2014 GT500 becouse thats the last Mustang he touched and there for it is rare and can not be re produced! RIP Shelby!
