Well, so I missed...

Not quite... your hand will be in a handshake position but upside down (with the heel up and the thumb pointing down). Think of the Karate Kid deflecting kicks. This allows you to push the shift **** forward and away from you all in one motion so that there is no chance it will go into 3rd instead. It might feel awkward the first few times you try it but once you get used to it you'll never miss another 4-5 shift.

I also always point my thumb down when I shift to 4th, I have a natural tendency to pull towards me so if I was banging gears *crossing fingers* I would end up in 2nd one day lol

No problem, it's just spooky that both cars are the same color too. Great minds thinking alike!

I didn’t notice the dark horse on your grill (indicating 2010) until you said that and I looked at your ‘garage’ photo.
Which brings up the whole issue that your transmission and thus shifter are totally different from mine! (yours is domestic, mine’s made in China) it’s so good to see that Ford fixed THAT issue! (In fairness to Ford, it’s a fairly universal issue – my former Accord forum was rife with the 6MT owners complaining about the 2-3 shift on their Accord V6s, and in fact there was a TSB to mitigate the issue).
