Like the wheels/brakes... Kona Blue - nice color, my wife's SHO is Kona Blue; looks great in the sun, really lights up the blue! Enjoy!

I take really good care of my cars and plan to do the same with this GT.
If there is no damage to the paint itself, then they should be able to fix it or have a professional detailer fix it. If the paint is actually damaged down to the primer, than you'll need some paint.

I didn't see where you mentioned anything about the hood damage so I don't know the extent.

If you want to see if they used nothing but a bandaid to cover it up, wash the hood with dawn dish soap. It'll strip off any wax and fillers and reveal the true condition of the paint. Just remember to re-apply a wax after this.

When I went to look at the Mustang a local dealer had, I found out their delay in finding it was because it was in the bump shop because of some damage during delivery. The sales guy didn't know the extent of the damage but promised me I wouldn't know the difference when I came to see it. All he could tell me was the back quarter panel and/or bumper.

I am very picky about my paint, so I figured if I could see where the repair was, then I'd ask for a nice discount or walk away. When I showed up I looked very close and couldn't find any damage or signs of repair.

Yeah I love Kona Blue. I really liked the way it looked with white stripes on my 2010 GT500. I still might make a move on the 2011 GT500 they have in the showroom. It's just hard to justify the cost of the GT500 anymore. It's only faster at the track with slicks (and not much at that). On the street a GT is actually faster since it can put the power to the ground better.

As a once employed member of a ford dealership as a lot tech, you'd be surprised just how many cars come in filthy. By and large the transit corporations just don't care. They care about loading as many cars as they can, as quickly as possible.

Many don't realize this because the dealers do spend the time to clean them up nicely. Your vehicle should clean up just as nice. If not theres certainly the warranty or the option not to buy. It's nice to have that ball in your court.

She looks good in the pictures, I can tell you that for certain!

So they cleaned up up the car really good but I still haven't bought it. Instead I have it as an overnight loaner and taking it over to my friend who is in the auto collision repair biz to have him look the paint over good. I'm still thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2011 GT500. My dealer sold their 2011 GT500 this morning and another local dealer has one but it's Sterling Silver and I really want Kona regardless of what model.

The way it looks to me, is that the car is probably in the shape anyone would expect it to be coming out of the factory. However, it sounds like you're trying to find excuses to go with the GT500.

If you're not under any obligation to buy the 2012 that was ordered, I'd just start looking for a Kona 2011 GT500.

It's my experience that you should never settle on what you want. It just ends up costing you more money in the long run.

Just my .02.
