Agree that the track pack is awesome but it's definitely overkill for the street.

Sure, since they discontinued Kona Blue. It is rumoured that a Kona Blue 6 cylinder running on bad gas once beat a Porsche 911 gt3 in the quarter mile, the Texas Mile, The Nurburgring, and in attracting NBA Cheerleaders.

They ultimately discontinued the color because cars painted Kona Blue occasionally traveled so fast that warp factor 6 became common place and Mr. Scott was fired as the head engineer on the Star Ship Enterprise. Turns out that when Superman wanted to revive a dead Lois he got in a well polished Kona Blue 2011 mustang (with nothing but cai and a tune) and drove it backwards so fast that it reversed time in this sector of space allowing him to travel back in time enough to stop the collaps of the San Andres Fault and save her.

Pretty much all of this is documented on the internet and therefore FACT.

But, silver is pretty darned fast!

Congratulations Jeff. Also, a small dealer doesn't necessarily mean a longer way. I've dealt with the small Ford dealer in my town for years. The Wifey's Mustang was delivered in 5 weeks. My Platinum was ready in four. Good luck, and check with "Deysha" here. She'll track it for you.

Oh and by the way, the base price jumped by $310 and shipping by $30...timing is everything...it's finally out on the Ford website as well....now they can increase the rebates and not really lose!!!

I'm taking the obvious assumption you don't like the 2015 model lol.

You planning any power mods? Congratulations.

Not that I don't like the 15 ( like everyone parts I like and parts I don't like, just like the 14's. I did like the front of the 10-12's better than the 13/14, but it is growing on me), I just realize it would really be unaffordable for a while and I ain't getting any younger!!!!

Gonna be sweet, I definately would NOT do the track pack for a car driven mainly on the street, especially with living in Chicago. You would need to spend some of the (if you have any) mod money on a set of winter tires as the summer tires on the track pack cars are probably worthless in the winter?!?

Congrats on your order! I am really glad I ordered my '14 last winter, as I knew I loved just about everything about the '14's and didn't like the preliminary renderings of the 2015 model. Granted, the '15 looks better than I thought it would, but I still like the '14 way more. ( I am more of a retro-look guy ).

If you can swing the Track Pack then do it. It is absolutely not overkill. In fact it will probably "save" you money as you won't feel the need to upgrade your brakes, wheels and tires, rear gears, etc.

Good call on the hood struts. I installed the Redline Plus hood struts the minute my car came home. They are a great product - 10 minute install - and you get to ditch that awful hood prop rod.

This is my "fun" car...will never see rain nor snow, just like the 12.....thats why it only had 4,832 miles on it....I would have loved the Brembo package as I really like those wheels, but what I ordered was all I could reasonably afford...down the road I would like to maybe go aftermarket on the wheels...

Congrats on the 2014- you will love it.

I think you mentioned possibly adding the GT500 mufflers... I can tell you they are awesome (mean sounding without being obnoxious). Cold starts always bring a smile to my face! Plus, you can pick up the mufflers as part of the Ford Racing Performance Package (includes the mufflers, the Pro-Cal FRPP tune, and a supposedly less restrictive air filter- look it up on American Muscle or some other site, its a lot of bang for the buck).

I don't think the track pack is overkill for the street. I drive in Dallas (which has plenty of crappy roads) and the car handles great.

Now the waiting begins, which I guess isn't so bad since I don't drive my toys in the winter anyway. It is a smaller dealership, so it probably won't come till April, which is perfect as that is about the time I take my current car out of storage, plus my pay-off will be lower by then on my trade in. Only things I am thinking of adding once it comes are GT500 mufflers and some hood struts..took off my black shifter **** and will put that on once it comes in.....down the road will think about larger wheels and tires, but the little lady wouldn;t go for that right away...I "promised" this is the last new fun car....which since I am getting up there could probably be right. Someone is going to get a very pampered 2012 Mustang after I trade it in.
Congrats Jeff. Are the gt500 mufflers the ones from 10-12? Or the quads from 13-14?

The 10-12 Gt500 mufflers bolt right up. The quad tip ones require a new rear valence. Sound about the same from my understanding

They would be the ones from the 10-12....I was hoping they fit ok and don't stick out too far or anything....
