Weight of 2010 Mustang
I agree. Maybe a smudge more with the new equipment, stability control, safety equip, better interior materials and ect.
Unless they went with aluminum suspension component (control arms, spindles, k-member, ect = me dreaming...lol).then I doubt there will be much loss in weight since its still the same car. Couldn't imagine them being able to make it lighter without loss of structural rigidity and strength either. Which is one of the reasons the S197 is such a great car.

One important thing that hasn't changed much is weight. The 2010 V6 Mustang only picks up 15 lbs compared to the 2009 model, while the GT climbs just 35 lbs. That means Mustangs still have an advantage of about 400-500 lbs over the new Camaro and even more compared to the larger Challenger.

I'm not aware of any updated safety features that were mentioned except for stability control, and that is mainly software. I'd think that much of the weight comes from new standard features and options. Some of it is probably from the larger wheels. Generally as wheels increase in diameter, weight goes up as well. The 18" wheels in 2006-09 weighed 14 lbs more (for all four) than the standard 17" wheels, and the 18" tires were 8 lbs heavier (2 lbs each). 18" wheels are now standard on the GT with 19" wheels optional.
More insulation was added to dampen and quiet road noise for 2010. So that, plus the Bullitt suspension pieces (strut tower brace), better interior materials, and the bigger wheels should roughly equal the weight gain.
