The Waiting Game

Since those of us who pre-ordered can really do nothing but wait, anyone care to guess when your 2011 Mustang will arrive at your dealership?

My original ETA was 4/28/10, now both my Dealer and Ford have confirmed 5/3/10 but I'm feeling lucky, my guess is 4/30/10 just in time for the weekend.

Been waiting since March 3rd. Still no VIN or build date! Dealers says they should be here by Saturday and I should see the car by first week of June.

My retail order was put in 2/18 and has a build date of 5/10, est delivery 5/20.

My stock order was put in 2/18 and has already been built, just waiting on release and a truck to deliver. I'd expect two more weeks and it will be here.

Ordered 1/23/2010, dealer switched it to "stock" 2/11/2010. Was built 3/31, now probably buried 15 rows deep. ETA still shows 4/10????? I'm just hoping it arrives by the end of May at this point. Got a road trip planned in June and was going to drive it up to the Ford museum in Deaborn in August. My current lease isn't up till Sept. 8th, so that is my only hard deadline before I'd have to consider drastic measures.

Worse case scenario they will extend your lease a few months. I've yet to hear a company having an issue with doing this.

My curent lease isn't with Ford, don't think Audi going to be nice to me since I'm not going back to them.

Ordered on 3/12, had my VIN two weeks later and it still does not show up online. Its scheduled for build next week, thought I'd see the window sticker by now. V6 pony vert. I wonder if that have built and verts yet?

I ordered my GT coupe on March 2nd and my window sticker indicates build date of 4/20. My dealer told me to expect car in May so I'm guessing late May/early June.

I would NOT want my car built on 4/20

I guess it depends on your taste, might find a surprise in the glove box.

I can see it now. A line worker after hours scrambling through thousands of Mustangs in the lot looking for his lost property.

Should I ask my dealer to change my order to a stock order from retail? Will that speed me up?

It all comes together. That would kill Ford's image if a customer found a bag in his car. Even though some customers wouldn't say a **** thing and consider it an extra option.

Ordered 4/3. Build scheduled for 5/4, they say. And ETA to dealer 5/8. Still no sticker but have had the VIN since 4/16.

I predict mine will arrive the day before they call me and tell me it's there. 5/10/10 would be a cool date. Anything before the current incentives run out would be good.
