VLEDS V3 Triton amber swtichback installed

I was going to wait until closer to spring or when it warms up (slightly) to install them...but what can I say, I got bored. On top of that I just really have the itch to drive or work on my car badly.

Anyways, I received my package Monday pm. I finished the install tonight. Overall, it's a nicely built set, and vleds overall quality and packaging never disappoints.

Install took about 15 minutes or so, half of that was setting up the collar and set screws on the triton.

The triton lives up to its name sake. They really are the brightest LEDs out there, even in amber. FYI, I had white-amber switchbacks for two years and missed the pure amber. So these are amber.

I am mostly done with the install, just have to figure out where and how to mount the control boxes. Package says they get hot... But I don't think these will on our cars, because we have default resistors built in. Either way, I was planning to use double sided tape and mount it on the inner wall fender on each side. Any opinions or suggestions on that? If it gets hot, I hope it doesn't melt the 3M adhesive double sided tape.

Overall, I love it. Much brighter that stock or my switchbacks.

Here's some pics and videos.

Here's where I am thinking about mounting the power modules. I plan on using double-sided tape attached to the fender wall.

Wow looks good!

Crazy though that it requires its own firing system...

i have the switchbacks from american muscle that are suppose to go from white to amber. mine seem to go from blue to red/orange. do these have the white light and then switch to amber when the blinker comes on or do they just go from amber to brighter amber?

That's exactly where I mounted mine. No problems after 8 months!

I can't believe just how much dirt is in your engine bay. LOL.

Those look great though.

Technology keeps getting better. Love it.

It actually is just pure amber. They're called amber switchbacks because they are high power all the time... Go from on to off.

Good to hear! I'll be placing mine there. I just bought 3M doublesided.

Lol Steve. It's winter here in Iowa, for last 4 months. I have had zero interest in detailing. Once car show season starts then I will clean again

I finished mounting the control modules in the fenders using 3M tape. I also cleaned up and zip tied them cleanly, reinstalled radiator cover and good to go.

I started her up today, attached some more pics of the tritons. I love these bad boys. They're bright!!! I wanted pics in daylight but the back half of the driveway is covered in snow and ice. My tires are not going to touch that. . Better pics maybe next week in the sun, if the sun ever shines.

I'm also upgrading the side marker lights to 5k whites (through amber oem lens cover) to better match the tritons.

Finally got some sunlight and 40 degrees today. So I started her up and took some outside shots. I love the new setup. Front sidemarker and turns now are a matching yellow, via white 5k LEDs.

This winter has been the longest that I can remember. Started early, going long, and very bitterly cold. Not good.
