Hi guys,

Ordered my car at the end of March. Dealer says I have a build date 'near the end of April' with an ETA of 'mid May'.

I asked if he had received my VIN and he said he only had the first two, and last eight digits.

Is this normal? I'd like to be able to check on progress myself and also look for my window sticker.

Doesn't sound normal... if it's any help though... all the people who have posted VINs for '11 GTs are in this format...

Your dealer is looking on the wrong page within the order system. He is looking in the order "inquiry" screen, which does show just the first 2 and last 8 digits for one car at a time. Ask your dealer to open up CONCEPS, go into the ordering section, the open menu 1, then menu 2, then menu 4, then put in your car info (year, body code) and hit enter. Look down the list of 11 Mustangs to find your order #. The full VIN is in the far right column.

I hated bugging my dealer for info, if I were you just request the DORA for your order from your dealer and if they don't give you then just get their dealer code and the order # and call this number and request status of your order.

Thanks for that number. Just called it and got my VIN!

Also found out that my production date was April 15th and that my transit date is May 4th. I know the transit date isn't a "real" date because the hold right now but it's still sweet to know that it will be getting out soon for summer fun!
