VIN, Build, Delivered: The 2012 Edition
sorry if a bit jumbled
the original day the dealer had ordered it was 17DEC2010 once I put a deposit on it they changed it to my name, then changed from priority 11 to 10 the DORA I have now says order was entered 17JAN2011 and DORA processed 24JAN2011. will that somehow affect the scheduling? I hope this is a better/easier written question.
I guess bottom line do these changes make it a new order?

Did the order number change on the DORA? That's what would make it a "new order" as opposed to an "amended order".
As far as scheduling goes, IF it's an "amended" order, then chances are no, it wouldn't affect your scheduling.
If it's a "new order", it only would have affected the schedule if there was a large time period between the time he cancelled and reinserted the order AND there was another Mustang allocated from your dealer in that specific time period ( that would make the next Mustang down the list jump the queue). I would say that at this point, with the delay in scheduling they're having with the new model ramp up, that the chance of that would be slim.
thanks
the order number is the same, and there are/were no mustangs before mine. I still expect a early March build date though.

My dealer just called. He said that they are indeed waiting for ok-to-buy status and that there is “some kind of issue” with the 5.0 motor but that it shouldn’t affect my order. That’s all Ford would tell them.
So I wonder if this is the knocking issue that so many guys it seems are experiencing?
Was this a build date of 2/9, or 3/9? What is the earliest build date that has not been pushed back. If this is 2/9, it is the earliest that I have seen. Other than that, all I can remember is 2/17.

Dealership said car will be build on 2/9/11 , plus all 2012 and some 2011 GTs orders are on hold, because 5.0 motors Ford having some troubles with, but all V6s orders are on time.

5.0s have some delays.
V6s do have delays, because of the Explorer launch
If your build date is in Feb and hasn't been changed, your car should get here well before April.
Dealers seldom have the whole story.
