The Nav system should be flexible enough for owners to purchacse Maps of Mexico, Austrailia, Europe, etc from Navteq instead of only North America. Also to sell a car with a "Track Pack" or modded suspension is marketing the car to potential owners with performance driving in mind or driving events. Then to limit the car's top speed at 112 MPH is unfair. Thats my opinion.
If all you want is to remove the speed limiter the Diablosport Handheld Tuner did allow modification to the stock tune file (Unlike SCT). I cant say if it still does with the new Copperhead PCM. You would also need to make sure it would recognize the PCM in the European Car. Maybe you could convince them to send you one for testing.

I was thinking, i have read about something like this. Its not a tune but you can change things like tire sizes and rear gear ratios so the speedometer will be showing the right speed. I think i read your could remove the speed limiter with this device also. I can't remember the name of it because i'm old and weak mined LOL!!!

I would hope that on the V6 PP that they will raise the limit since it will have Z rated tires.

Does the base V6 still use those crappy T rated BFG tires?

I will wait a short while and see what develops regarding the hand held tuners. I do have an American specification mustang (like every other mustang). My Eurocobra was converted - cosmetic only (blinkers etc).

One major problem within Ford is I think that they forget that other continents are on this earth where people may in fact send their cars. In this case they should leave some loop holes/backdoors or provide assistance or guidance to tailor the car to meet the laws of the land (emissions, tail lights, right hand drive options, headlights, park lights). BWM, VW, Volvo, Ford Europe, Mercedes, and almost every major car manufacturer outside of the US does this.

They build the new V6 cars with all this great performance and then cut them short.

I wonder if the Performance Package cars will be like this???
I have a premium 11 v6 that has the 18 in rims on it mine always shuts down at 125mph and you can tell it still has way more to go power wise I'm getting bama tune like I have for my 97 so I'll see what it can do then

This Thread is almost 6 years old but, I agree our V6 Mustangs will do a lot more than 125. When you get your tune be sure to set your speed limit to 'off'.

where the heck you guys driving over that speed?...
Me too I have 2013 V6 PP with 3:31 gear and the speed limit is blocked at 112mph. When I go to the drag strip I easily reach that mark and its frustrating, but my understanding is that the two-piece driveshaft can fail at high rotational speed, so Ford covers their as**es by limiting the speed. I could remove the speed limit with my SCT tuner if I wanted, but I prefer to wait to install a one-piece driveshaft beforehand.

It also has to do with the speed rating of your tires. I wonder what Ltngdrvr is up to these days ?

I wonder too. He had a V6, then traded to a 5.0. Last i heard of anything from him, he traded the 5.0 for a F250 power stroke 'or something like that'.

The driveshaft is at fault for that limit, you have tires capable of a higher speed.

Its sad that a Honda Civic will top out more than a V6 305 hp Mustang

Until you get a Tune

If you top out at 125 mph i 'think' your 2011 has a tune on it. Most un tuned V6 Mustangs top out at 113-118 mph.

Every tune i've ordered has had the 'top speed' set at 125 mph and i have to set it to 'off', when i go through the settings before i load the tune to my Mustang. Just saying............
