Just curious if anyone has noticed any performance improvements using premium fuel consistantly in their V6?
Most regular fuels are including 10% ethanol which is hurting our MPGs, In some areas they have not put ethanol in their premium fuel yet.

My car seems to run stronger with premium fuel but it could be the placebo affect as well.

All of our fuels have 10% Ethanol here, but there is a 6-8 HP bump when running premium.
Now the difference between the 87 and the 93 tune from Bama is quite a bit

I run 87 octane in my 2013. Found no performance change with higher octane. But, do notice more power in the cooler dry weather.

There was dyno testing done by the AM crew for BAMA. Even on stock software the v6 makes more power with 91 vs 87.

The coyote is rated is 420hp on 91, and makes 412hp on 87.

Me, yes. Not only that but the mpg rating on the coyote as advertised by Ford is only achieved with 91 octane and not 87.

I only use 93 octane since day 1. The dealer had it for several weeks and they put 87 in it when they were done. I can say that from my experience my car ran a great deal more sluggishly from 87 octane fuel.

I ran it down to fumes almost and filled up with 93 and it was noticeable within a few miles. If you do switch octane I would suggest running it for at least a full tank before making up your mind.

My 2013 V6 certainly feels better on premium non ethanol, but feel is relative.

Factual known affect I have experienced on two separate trips, 2 mpg better gas mileage running non ethanol than ethanol fuel- regardless of grade (87,89,91,93)

I run 87 in my 2005 4.0L coupled with a Brenspeed Tune. Never had the need for higher grades.
