Used 2012 gt prem brembo-how much?

So I am the owner of a 2012 v6 pp. I love the car, but now that I've become obsessed with mustangs wish I would have gotten a v8. A dealership near me recently posted a used '12 gt prem with brembo/HID, and a little over 2k miles for $30,300. Using the incentives on the new '12's as leverage, how much do you think I could talk them down? I was hoping to be out the door for around $4k extra after trading my car. Is this reasonable? What would be a good place to start negotiating? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

A *used* 2012 Premium, though only 2000 miles, 30k sounds fairly reasonable to me, provided everything inside and out looks and smells new. I'd be firm at your KBB as a trade - I don't think you would have too much wiggle room at that price, though.

Ultimately, you are the customer and if it doesn't suit you, you're free to walk - always remember that.

Also, make sure that price doesn't already include incentives - sometimes the price is advertised as such.

From experience, as far as negotiating goes, bring a Sicilian with you if you can! Not being racist here - my Sicilian mum is a vicious negotiator (yet a terrible cook - go figure!)

You will notice that dealers have plenty of V6s and likely no GTs so this doesn't help your negotiating position. Their position is to make money on both your trade and the sale of the used GT. If I were you, I'd hang out a while and look around. Your 12 V6 beats older GTs although it may not sound as nice. If you've absolutely gotta have it now, the asking price on that GT sounds fair. It will be about how much you can get for your trade.

Thanks for the info, and the more I look at I think you are both right-the price seems fair. I can't make it to the dealership till Friday, but I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have the same car(somewhat) as you're looking at right now --

got it @ +100.00 over invoice in December $33,162.00 with 42mi on the clock.
with the '13's out and GT Brembos (55D) are fairly hard to find... build out for '12 is done so a '12 order may be a little shaky unless there is one in the pipeline but not sold.

I would rather negotiate on a new car, than a demo or turn-in. If you are really sure you want to do this, I'd wouldn't let them depreciate your cars price in their favor-- hold a high line on your car and make sure the deal comes out on your side.

So the car I'm looking at was built in Dec, sold at the end of Jan then turned in early Apr with 2300 miles according to car facts. Is that a red flag, or my chance to get a good deal? And everything was done through one dealership if that means anything...

i think you can get a good deal on a NEW 2012 Premium - might even be able to get it for 30 if you shop around.

I'd be a little concerned as to why it was turned in so soon. Perhaps the dealer can shed some light on this. But if it drives well and looks good, you do have a lot of time left on the warranty. And you can still buy an extended warranty through Ford if you like those sort of things.
