Upgrade stock Shaker Head Unit to Shaker Navigation Unit

Hello all this is my first post, I own a 2013 Mustang GT Premium. The car has the stock shaker 500 interface with no navigation system, The car has sync and I decided to purchase a OEM shaker system with the navigation thinking it would be plug and play. I bought it from someone off FB marketplace, it came with the face with the lower controls and the cut out for the Touch screen, it came with the head unit for it also. I plugged everything in and missing a connecter on the back of the head unit which on intial plug in the radio turned on, thinking it would work knowing its sending signals out to the speakers. after plugging the touch screen for the navigation the screen didn't turn on. The person i bought it off said i would have take it to the ford dealership and get the system re-programmed in order for the screen to turn on. The only other thread I have seen is to basically convert a base model to have the nav. I was hoping someone can point me to the right direction.

Thanks, Nmsabq

I do believe programming is involved.

While I think the answer is yes, there are others here with actual experience making this upgrade. I hope they see this thread and chime in.

My experience with adding navigation was that no programming was involved, except for things like the rear camera.

So you have no sound and no power to the screen?

There is a sticky on adding OEM NAV.

Maybe something in there will help.
