I always use 93 because 91 isn't very common around here. GT wants 91 or 93. It can use 87 but you'll take a horsepower hit.

Biscuit, I am running 93. It seems to make some difference in performance. The dealer tanked me up with 87 for the first tankfull, and I switched to 93 and it seems a little snappier.

If your running a grade of fuel that is higher than called for it can cause deposits in your engine because higher grade fuel requires a higher temp spark to combust it fully

I don't see the point in that. If you were trying to save a few pennies then might as well go with 87 but whatever, it's not my car.

IIRC 91-93 is the recommended fuel for the GT. 87 is "acceptable"

91 is what we have here.

Yeah I wish! The 07-09 GT500s didn't come with knock sensors due to the supercharger - at the time, Ford couldn't figure out how to tune out the noise from the SC (or maybe they were ust being cheap ).

One plus to using premium though is a federally mandated better additive package ---> after watching the top tier video in my link, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore <--- that is required for mid and base grades. Might not mean much unless you have a gas supplier who really wants to pinch pennies.

And I always look for a top tier gas supplier http://www.toptiergas.com/

Non-ethanol 93 in my area. Car runs insane with the 93 tune.

Owners manual here in Canada says 87... So I use 87, every once in a blue moon I will add the 91...ok, I used 91 once so far in my 2,500 km
