After the deer hit on Monday the 12th, I've only driven my car to get the estimate done, and then to drop it off at the body shop last Sunday (19th). Body shop said yesterday they are still awaiting the new bumper, and don't know when they'll get it, but even if the get it in Monday or Tuesday, it won't be ready until the end of next week.
So I am having MAJOR withdrawal symptoms! Don't know....how...much...longer...I...can go...without...my..5.0 (sounds like song lyrics!). This sucks, especially since I don't know when I'll ever get my ride back. Thanks for letting me cry on your shoulder.
A tiny bit of good news out of this is I get a 2nd chance to not have my front bumper drilled (I'll tell the body shop to not drill holes nor hang my front plate). I'll get one of those under-mount plate brackets for the front.

I've been there man... I waited an entire month!! for when I had front end damage... new bumper, valance, wheel wells, under panel, etc...
Here's when it happened post:

It sucks, and it seriously feels new all over again once you get it back.
And here's my rant post on the wait: https://themustangsource.com/f783/my...3/#post5933098
And the post just below that is when I finally got it back!
Hang in there man!!

So excited – Body shop said today that they have the bumper and that I will likely be able to pick up my car some time on Friday!! I have action to call them tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon to confirm!
If it works out, that’ll make nearly 3 weeks since the incident. Decided to forego the GT/CS front valance (just had them restore to stock) since I am still strongly considering the LeMans stripes and if I get those, then that little body color strip below the bumper (which is lacking on the CS splitter) is an important location for continuation of the stripes.

I've only been able to 'visit' my Mustang on weekends this whole month. The Taurus has been at the dealer since 9/2 waiting on parts for the brake TSB.
And nobody at Ford seems to know for sure what the status of the parts is from day to day. Couple of times they've said two different things on the same day... and one day THREE different things. Even the dealer can't get the same answer twice. I've had problems with the brakes since January or February, and it's been 'fixed' twice now... and in the shop six times, nearing 40 days altogether. They did manage to get the transmission reflash accomplished in one trip
... but they have seriously dropped the ball on Taurus brake issues.

I am rolling the dice a little bit since the body shop is nearly 2 hours away and I am taking a cab there (probably going to use a Limo service since I didn't ever get a rental car which I had insurance for). I sure hope they got it right the first time, but that's why I chose these guys - they've treated me right before.

Jean didn't like my '08 Fusion, and she doesn't like the rental Fusion. But she'll be driving it tomorrow because I just got finished washing the Mustang... and that means I'll be driving it in the morning.

Problem isn't the dealer... it's Ford. They had to manufacture a whole lot of new brake parts, and now, depending on who you talk to on what day, they've either shipped already, or they haven't been released for shipping yet, or they're actually still on back order. On the days the story is that they HAVE shipped, they can't tell you when they shipped, or where they were shipped to, or when they might get there. It's really been frustrating, because at some point along the way you finally realize that Customer Care has been lying to you. I feel a little better knowing that they're lying to the dealer, too... but that just makes it disappointing on a whole 'nother level.

Don't ever accept a "no" from someone who can't say "yes".
Sounds like it's time to kick it up a notch. Your situation sounds ridiculous. If Ford won't escalate you any further, maybe your local news station would be interested? I think our local station does a bit called "10 on your side" where they take on a frustrated customer's complaint & use the power of the press to get the offender to capitulate. Just a thought. I am guessing you've tried everything already.
One bit of advice I try to live by:

). I now have a chain of back and forth now that will be finding it's way to the top floor at Ford if I ever get the car back. I've turned the problem over to the dealer GM. If he can't break through the Ford 'machine' BS any better than I can, then it's broken worse that I thought.

( no similarities with Canucks) will be on the look out for a nice ride to hit head on.
