tune only?

Hey guys,

Thinking about getting a tuner along with bama's tunes from AM. My question is, will i see decent hp gains without any bolt-ons and just a tune only. I'd be happy if a tune-only would grant me 20whp.

The tune will wake up your car, no need for a CAI. But there are better tuners than Bama. Do it right the first time.

Scott's right. FAR better tuners out there. Do your research and let it speak for itself. A bama (ugh, I stress even typing that word out) will never get close, more so, on my car.

A tune without a CAI will get you 20hp. I would recommend the Bama v2 tunes they run great for me or Lund I hear is very good.

I have had no problem with Bama. Are there better tuners out there? Probably but you can't beat the tunes for life deal if you are starting to mod your Mustang. Get some gears installed?... update your tune for free. Got bigger tires and/or a CAI?... update your tune for free. Other charge you to get an updated tune. I always say this in tuning threads. An email tune is nice but when I ever finish my performance mods then I will get a dyno tune which I recommend to anyone. The dyno tune, with a really good tuning specialist will do wonders but cost a lot.

A tune on these vehicles really wakes the car up. Throttle response is much better all around power through the curve as well. Along with performance you also get driveability. Like everyone has said do research and check out your options for tuning. Bama, Lund etc these guys know there stuff and are great tuners. Give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any specific questions. We work with these cars everyday. Here at MPT we update tunes for free if the product is purchased through us. If not we chage 20.00 for all your tunes to be updated. Good luck with your search.

Anthony... the tunes for life thing is common. I already get that with mine, and there are others who do it too. Just saying, it's not that "special". It's about the relationship you build with your tuner.

i wish i could give you more comparative info on diff tunes, but i had only bama tune till date on my car (2 yrs) and waiting on supercharging it to get other tune. as of bama tune nothing special to write home about. the new version V2 tune i would say is ok and being auto i was happy with v2 as shift felt smoother n responsive.

Sick - Welcome to TMS - Just running a Bama X4 on your Coyote is going to be more than enough to wake the car up like what's been said here - There's a slew of talent around in the aftermarket industry and I'm obviously biased here sitting close to a few thousand horsepower but I highly recommend them based on their tuning abilities. Their team puts in incredibly long days, nights, and weekends to create, log, and further fine tune their customers setups and they'll work with their customers to ensure that the driving characteristics and dynamics are on par with exactly what you're after. Not only are they on our Dynojet and Mustang Dyno but they're at the track whenever they're free, hitting road courses, and shredding tire doing street tests.

Thanks for your feedback '11 - I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying your V2's as much as I do!

If you're to have any questions at all don't hesitate to shoot me a PM, drop us a line or simply make a post or a thread and I'll be around to help anyway I can.

Happy modding!

Alex

Hmm I'll check around to what tuners are out there. Does anyone know if AED tunes are any good?

Yes, he is one of the, if not, the best tuner for our coyote motors. I am currently running a steeda 93 race tune with stock airbox and only a catback. The car is quick no doubt, but ill be getting an AED tune as well to try them out.

I got a tune from AM/Bama with the stock air box and I noticed a huge difference! I love it. Definitely worth getting.

Of course there will be haters out there who will try to talk crap about anything. The people that have the V2 tunes love them. The people that don't have them really have no room to talk.

We appreciate your support! We have some great tuners on our staff that write tunes to be safe, reliable & powerful. Our track record speaks for itself & the only way to achieve this is by writing tunes that won't cause issues in first place!

Best Regards,

TJ

And some got tired of $hitty tunes and decided to move on.

I'm so glad I never even got on the boat in the first place. Whew. That was a sinking ship to begin with.

So you had a Bama tune and didn't like it? Was it a V2?

I don't see how you can comment on a tuner that you've never dealt with. I like you and respect you but I just don't get your hatred of anything AM. You act like they insulted your family or something. They have always treated me right.

I have a 91 performance tune from Steeda. It's perfect. Made the car drive much better and can definitely tell a difference. Pulls stupid hard in every gear.
