Question Trunk light quit working

Yesterday evening I noticed that my trunk light wasn't working anymore. I thought it was probably just the bulb, but when I knocked on the plastic interior "valence" where the light is mounted, it made a funny, cheap metal sound inside.

I took the lens off this morning and discovered that there is a cheap (black) aluminum (?) piece inside the light cutout, which had fallen to the back, out of place. I fumbled it through the opening, placed it back in place and checked the bulb, which looked fine to me, but still nothing.
I will get another bulb later today to make sure it's not the bulb...

But other than that... any other ideas? Has that happened to anyone else?

Happened to a buddy of mine, his was a loose plug somewhere in the trunk, I think under the trunk lid liner. Follow the wiring harness, see if there's a plug somewhere in the trunk.

Thanks for the tip... on my next day off I'll follow the wiring... wonder where that get's me? LOL

Second thing, after the bulb, I checked the fuse. Everything seems fine, as I belive the trunk light is wired with the interior map lights, which should be on the same fuse.

Could they have put that fuse box in a more unconvenient location??? Holy crap! It's also covered with some kind of material with velcro on it... had to find that darn thing first!
