I am 5'10 163lbs and I was really impressed by the room in the Stang. My legs don't bottom out, and I can actually move the seat up and have people sit fairly comfortable in the back, with out my knees touching the steering wheel. The car could be lighter but not if it means making it smaller, if I want a tiny death trap I would go buy a Solstice. The Stangs length is part of it's classic look, I don't want to drive a clown car that looks like a Mustang.

At 6'4" and 195 lbs., my 2005 is a perfect fit. In fact, the seating position is the most comfortable of any car I've ever owned.

If any of the dimensions are reduced in the future, I wouldn't want to buy one.

The car really needs a telescoping wheel to make the fit perfect. By the time I get the seat adjusted to where I want it, the steering wheel is a bit too forward. A lot of this has to do with change in the way the tilt works vs. the SN95's design, which allowed a more vertical placement of the steering wheel.

I can't believe you people, the size of the stang is perfect...why would you wanna go euro on the car and make it smaller. When you're on the road behind a civic, you can see the intimidation on their face! The car is mean and it's big...guys also..when you got a girl on the front seat and you're parked and have the seat all the way back... the extra room is appreciated..wut wut! Don't mess with perfection!

No problems here, and I think it really looks pretty look in proportions. About 6', 200#.

As for a tight squeeze with someone behind the driver, oh well, guess they're walkin', 'cuz no one's going behind me.

Our 05 fit is perfect! I'm 6'3' 235 my lovely wife is 5"1" 107. We did a 3300 mile vacation this year and the only thing that could make fit better is a power passenger seat. In 98 we considered a Mustang and rented one. After 20 miles it was painful for both of us.

Few cars fit both of us, our Mustang GT is perfect for us.

The only reason I considered this car was because it fit so well, at 6`2" the 04 wasn`t enough head or leg room. Of course I wanted a Mustang first ! I couldn`t have been more comfortable on my 6500 mile road trip this spring. I would have to agree it needs a telescoping steering wheel though. Can this be modified by aftermarket?

6'5" and 350#-linebacker size with very long legs. Had my seat bracket customized for 4 extra inches of travel-now I fit fine. Would be better with telescoping wheel.
Disclaimer: It is a third car in my household so I possibly would have a different opinion if I had to drive it everyday.

I'm 6'6" 235. I have to put the seat all the way back. I just BARELY fit length wise. I don't fit in most sports cars. I'm really happy they made this car easier to fit into.

Cars I don't fit in:

WRX, S2000, Vipers, all VW's (lol), pretty much all old muscle cars are a serious challenge, older stangs are tight but manageable ( I wouldn't want to own one with out some seat runner mods)

Cars I DO fit in:

New stang, and amazingly the new Z06.

6' 0" and 165 pounds. I fit great, (way better than the SN-95 cars, when I didn't have enough seat track travel for a comfortable leg position, hence why I didn't own one then). For this car I wouldn't have minded a little bit more side bolstering on the seat backs. Other than that, the seating position is perfect.

I'm 5'10"/185 lbs, everything on planet earth is engineered to fit me exactly. Its funny when we go shopping for motorcycles too, there isn't one at the dealer that doesn't feel perfect for me and my lurch friends look like circus clowns on half of em. Same goes for every airplane seat. I don't think the stang is too big, I think the Japanese cars are still to small for most Americans. Although the avearge American is 5'8", the average TMS poster apparently is 7'9" tall.

6' 2" 300lbs and fit fine except the wheel rubs on my legs (if I raise steering then cant see ins. cluster) and the BIGGEST problem I have encounted is when stopped at lights I either have to lean right forward or stop futher back so I can see the lights.
The stang is probably the only car I have driven without having to be bowlegged.

At only 5'6", I'm definitely on the short side. So the car size is fine. I would like to see Ford offer seats with better side bolsters, a telescoping steering column (if my $15K Mazda 3 could have one, why can't a nearly $30k GT have one?), and an adjustable seat belt height. I'm always fidgeting with my collar so that the seat belt doesn't rub my neck raw.

I'm 6'1.5" 225lb. I sold my '01 Cobra because with the seat all the way back and the seat back set for good arm length, my knees/thighs interact with the bottom of the steering column and wheel and the seat doesn't go back far enough for proper clutching (leg should be almost straight when clutch is on the floor).

I was hoping that the new mustang would fix this; it hasn't! While the seat does go back a tiny bit further, still can't get the right arrangement and knees/thigs still contact column/wheel (I don't want to tilt the wheel up like bus!) I want the wheel all the way down, elbows at about 165-degrees, legs nearly straight when clutch is on the floor.

Hopefully this can be fixed in MY '10. I'm not that tall or large, so it's not about size; it's about adjustment range of the seats (not enough back) and diameter of the wheel (+/- 2" too large in diameter) to my mind.

6'4", 230lbs and I fit fine in it. I actually rented a mustang for a month for work to decide if I could handle it being my daily driver. Like others on this forum, I don't fit well in a lot of sports cars.
