Well I thought I was going to hold out for a 2013 with the select-shift on the auto, but after a test drive with the auto 6-speed, I pulled the trigger and traded my Kona Blue 2011 5.0 w/manual for a Performance White 2012 5.0 w/automatic.
So far, no complaints. I really thought I would dislike the auto overall before I bought one, but now that I've got it, I don't think I will ever buy another manual shifted car, just too much work for this aging guy.
While I think full manual control of the automatic would be a nice option, as being added to the 2013, but I'm not sure Ford has done the right thing with a simple up/down rocker switch on the shifter handle. I guess time will tell once they get into the hands of the public.

Options: 400A, Automatic Trans, 19" 5-Star wheels, and Reverse Sensing package.
From my other car I already had some Lloyd 5.0 mats, and Ford Racing GT500 forged mesh 19x9 and 19x10 wheels, so they swapped right over. I have a SCT Tuner and Steeda CAI already, but I'm going to wait on installing them for now.
Right now, I'm thinking about getting the Ford Remote Start Kit and installing it. Those hot Texas mornings are just around the corner.

Congrats! I did the same thing last June, ordered a 2011 Premium GT coupe 6AT, and sold off my 2011 premium GT 'vert w/6MT. Some folks will never understand (haters gonna hate) but I felt I had to since a short-term medical issue was becoming long-term that prevented me from being able to operate a clutch pedal.
Being disabled has given me a whole new perspective! That said, I still don't think any automatic is very smart, especially one like our 6AT which is still tuned for economy (see how fast it wants to get into 2nd unless you floor it?). Perfection would be steering wheel paddles and instantly-shifting those up shifts , maybe w/a little rev matching. So while I am VERY happy w/my 6 AT I believe it could be better, and no, I don't think adding a little switch onto the shift handle is the way to do it.
Wow, sorry abt my soap boxing there!

I bought my '07 GT/CS while assigned to Texas, from the dealer in Denton. It was a 5Sp, MT, but I was retiring and going to South Dakota. No traffic!. An auto is almost a necessity in any big city. My trade in was a Chrysler Crossfire, which was an auto, and great for getting around the DFW area. I went with the 6 Sp MT-82 on my current GT/CS again, no traffic, so it is fun to drive especially in the Black Hills. If I went back to a large metro area, an auto would also be my choice. Enjoy!
